ICYMI: On Sunday, film legend Wes Craven passed away at 76-years-old after a battle with brain cancer. The horror expert created some of Hollywood's most successful franchises — such as Scream and Nightmare On Elm Street.
So we're not surprised that so many in the industry have taken to Twitter to pay tribute to the late writer/director — including the Friends actress, Rose McGowan, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and many more.
Check out their responses below:
This is just so sad.
Wes Craven — the writer/director who created the Nightmare On Elm Street and Scream horror film franchises — has died at the age of 76.
His family released a statement Sunday evening announcing the news:
"It is with deep sadness we inform you that Wes Craven passed away at 1PM on Sunday, August 30 after battling brain cancer. He was 76 years old. Craven was surrounded by love, in the presence of his family at his Los Angeles home."
A Nightmare On Elm Street reboot was in the works, and Scream was made into a TV series on MTV this summer.
Our thoughts go out to Wes' family during this difficult time.

Just call Ed Sheeran the Wedding Singer!
After performing at Ronan and Storm Keating's Scottish wedding and helping Jake Roche propose to his Little Mix love, Jesy Nelson, it appears the Photograph singer is slated to perform for another celeb couple.
Miz Cox even confirmed it herself!
What a fairytale wedding!
But it wasn't totally tame and predictable!
While guests thought they were showing up to Justin's 44th birthday party, the Horrible Bosses starlet didn't make the reveal until everyone arrived!
Of course we're sure no one minded feeling tricked for this very special reason, especially with the 46-year-old walking down the aisle in a flowing white dress perfect for her intimate backyard nuptials!
We can only imagine how beautiful the bride looked!
Love is in the air!
Unfortunately, the Friends star's parents were not in attendance at the secret wedding but the happy pair were surrounded by many of their A-lister friends.
In fact, Jen's former co-star and longtime bestie Courteney Cox served as the maid of honor at the wedding. Meanwhile, The Leftovers actor's best man was
Well it IS a little ridiculous…

One of the more interesting things she spoke about was her time on Friends, specifically the famous and record breaking collective contract negotiations — Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer all got together and united in 2002 to make sure they all made $1 million an episode!
When asked her thoughts on the their earnings, the co-creator said:
If there are any Friends fans that still think a reunion might happen, Courteney Cox is here to say it's not gonna happen — but she DOES joke that she'd be into the idea of a Monica Geller spinoff!
The actress appeared on Yahoo Style's I Yahoo'd Myself and talked about BFF Jennifer Aniston, how she can take advantage of Ed Sheeran's niceness, and how much she looks like Jared Leto (pre Joker makeover! LOLz)
The Just Before I Go director then took a Which 'Friends' Character Are You quiz and didn't get Monica! The 50-year-old lamented about her pairing:
