Daniel Radcliffe took time out from looking hawt on the cover of UK gay mag Attitude to expres his disdain for the intolerant.
The Harry Potter star says:
“I just loathe homophobia. It’s just disgusting and animal and stupid and it’s just thick people who can’t get their heads around it and are just scared. I grew up around gay people entirely. I was the only child in my class who had any experience of homosexuality or anything like that.”
It's truly the matchup everyone is waiting to see, and only Jimmy Fallon can bring it to you. (It's almost hard to contain yourselves, isn't Twi-Hards & Pot-Heads?)
Watch as Jimmy showcases the kind of Robert Pattinson and Daniel Radcliffe verbal squabble that would never happen in real life, but would be a better place if it did.
Note: Even Jimmy's R-Patz impersonation is better than Dan Rad! We kid. We kid.
“If you spent like a proper amount of time with me, you would probably wonder if I was on drugs. I'm not. I'm just incredibly hyperactive. Manic. [At the Harry Potter premiere in London] My God! I was just this kind of BEAST that had been UNLEASHED onto the red carpet!”
We mean, no. No, Daniel Radcliffe is not gay. But he doesn't mind if you think he is, which we kind of think is fabulous!
With the the first showing of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince only hours away (we bet you die-hards are already in line for your midnight showing), there is a bunch of juicy stuff for fans to munch on all over the Internet.
We came across this interview with Harry Potter himself and what we read, we enjoyed.
The actor was asked about the character of Dumbledore becoming an icon for the gay rights movement. He replied:
"It's wonderful. I grew up around gay people my entire life, basically, that's possibly why I'm quite camp, and some people think I'm gay when I meet them, which I think is awesome. It's always good to keep them guessing [laughs]. I don't go on any blogs or chats or anything, but my friends are demons for them, and apparently someone said "Daniel Radcliffe is gay. He's got a gay face!" [Laughs] I really don't know what a gay face is. But I think it's wonderful that Dumbledore was outed as gay … Half of me thinks Jo Rowling just did that to see if she could piss off the right wing, but I'm not sure how true that is. I think she had it planned, I think she always knew he was gay."
Daniel Radcliffe seems to think so, at least when it comes to real life. At the NYC premiere of Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince on Thursday night, Dan was asked about the mega-hot Robert Pattison and he conceded that women should pine over R-Patz rather than him.
"Rob Pattinson is a sex symbol," says Dan-Rad. "Rob Pattinson is a genuine sexy guy. He's got the height. If girls like short and nerdy, then I'm a sex symbol!"
Ha! Very true.
But while we are definitely on Team R-Patz, we think you have your own geeky charm Dan. Of course, we'd much rather see him in Equus than you, if you catch our drift!
"The one piece of advice I would give to any actor is, if you want to go out on the street without being recognized, without even being looked at, go out with a 6' 8" beautiful transsexual. No one gives you a second glance. Especially when you're 5' 5"."
-Daniel Radcliffe, speaking from experience, we presume, on fame and trannys
Tuesday was the World Premiere of the newest Harry Potter flick, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince at the Empire Leicester Square in London. Apparently, our favorite wizards couldn't figure out how to conjure up some better weather.
The rain poured down on the stars of the film, like Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint. But, like any true professional, they stuck it out for the fans!
DanRad is the cover boy on this Sunday's issue of Parade, in which he dishes about being Harry Potter and his inclination toward older women.
Here are some HIGHlights:
On the difference between Daniel and Harry:
“When I started out at the age of 10 or 11, I was essentially saying the lines as I myself would say them. When I became aware that that’s what I was doing, at 13 or 14, it didn’t make sense to change, because it would suddenly be a dramatic shift in the character.”
On baring it all on Broadway:
“As soon as we started doing the show, people went, ‘Oh! So this is not pornography—this is a play,’ It was mainly hyped beforehand. I didn’t set out to shock people. I set out to do something different from Potter. If I had wanted to shock people I would have played, you know, a gay drug dealer.”
On older ladies:
“Girls my own age are not really an option. I find, generally speaking, they have to be entertained more than older girls do. So most of the girls I have had serious things with are generally sort of in their 20s.”
Not up for entertaining, DanRad?!
We're sure there are lots of older woman willing to babysit put you to bed!!!
