The Foo Fighters Were Uninvited To The Emmys For Wanting To Play Their Emmy-Winning Music

This… doesn't make much sense to us.

So you know how the Foo Fighters were originally invited to be the first rock band to ever play at the Emmys thanks to their two Creative Arts Emmys they won?

Well, it turns out that Dave Grohl & Co. were uninvited from playing the awards show because they wanted to perform music from their HBO special Sonic Highways.

Apparently, the Academy had no problem with the band playing songs from the limited series — since it literally won awards and all — but FOX took issue with the Fighters not wanting to play their other song Learn to Fly.

After Dave refused to agree to the unrelated set list, he and his bandmates were promptly banned from performing and then refused to attend the event at all!

What do U think about FOX's crazy decision to cancel the Foo Fighter's performance??

We wouldn't be happy either!

Don't get us wrong, the Emmys were AH-Mazing last night. Andy Samberg had a great opening segment, everyone got a free HBO login and password, and Amy Schumer and Viola Davis both won!

What could have made the night better?!

Well actually, now that we think of it, a Foo Fighters performance would have been pretty epic — and we almost had it too, according to Dave Grohl!

Dave Grohl's special guest performed Seven Nation Army on stage!

Dave Grohl broke his leg early last month during a concert in Sweden.

And thanks to his surgeon, Dr. Lew Schon, the rocker is on the road to recovery. The Foo Fighters frontman decided to repay the good doctor by giving him his fifteen minutes of fame.

Well, technically four minutes, but you know what we mean!

The 46-year-old invited his orthopedic surgeon on stage during his Boston concert on Sunday night to perform Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes.

The craziest part? Dr. Schon sang the entire song all on his own, and he actually kicked butt! Who would've thought??

Dave sure seemed to be caught off guard, because after Dr. Schon left the stage, the singer exclaimed to the crowd:

"Holy sh*t, that's actually my doctor. What a badass."

LOL! Amazing!

Ch-ch-check out the doc's performance (below)!

Dave Grohl Broke His Leg And Now The Foo Fighters Have To Cancel The Rest Of Their European Tour!

Dave Grohl's broken leg is putting a stop to the rest of his tour.

Dave Grohl made headlines last week when he broke his leg in the middle of a show… but kept performing to finish out the set!

Unfortunately, now it looks like it's curtains for the rest of their European tour.

The Foo Fighters frontman had surgery on Monday, but the rest of their show dates were no match for Dave's broken bone.

On Tuesday, they announced they had no choice but to cancel their upcoming concerts, including their highly-anticipated appearance at the Glastonbury Festival.

Dave even included a personal message to his fans on the band's website — that they can access by clicking the broken heart on a picture of the Operation game board.

He wrote a lengthy essay, explaining the whirlwind moment when the injury happened:

"The funniest thing happened to me the other day in Sweden! Two songs into our set at Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg, I made a mad dash to the right of the stage during MONKEY WRENCH to shred some tasty licks for the kids up front. It was a beautiful night, beautiful stadium, 52,000 screaming people….dream gig! Well….wait for it….I definitely shredded something (ZING!) Wound up feet first over the Edge (pun intended), dropping about 12 feet, dislocating my ankle and snapping my fibula like an old pair of take out chopsticks. Whoopsie daisy. Not good. Without realizing the extent of my injuries, I stood up to get back onstage and crumbled like a sack of Joe Theismanns (look it up, kiddies). That sh*t was B-R-O-K-E."

At least he has a sense of humor about the whole thing!

He also discussed his decision to continue playing, described how his surgery went, and included photos of his x-rays so fans could see exactly what happened.

It's not until the end of the letter that he starts getting serious and shares the sad news:

"It kills me to say it…..the doctors have told us to cancel shows. I'm really so sorry, guys. You know I hate to do it, but I'm afraid it's just not physically possible for me at the moment. We're doing our best right now to work out a plan, so bear with us. You know we're good for our word. But for now, I need to make sure we have YEARS of gigs ahead of us…."

But he made sure to sincerely thank his fans for standing by him, even when he has to let them down:

"You have always stood by our band, and we will always stand by you. Like I say at every show, we wouldn't be here if it weren't for you guys. And I mean that. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. And I will do everything I can to come back and give you a night to remember for the rest of your lives AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Until then…my sincerest apologies."

Rest up, Dave! We hope you get better soon!
