Hey, if you've got it, why not spend it?

Diddy threw himself a lavish 40th birthday party at the Plaza in NYC on Saturday with a $3 million price tag!!

Guests were treated to a "fantasy Garden of Eden-themed room" which included a $30k orchid arrangement as well as a customized black dance floor and black chandeliers.

The attendees, which included a guest list of celebs such as Jay Z, Bono, Martha Stewart, Christy Turlington and Denzel Washington, were also privy to a private performance from legendary soul singer Al Green!

Sounds like Mr. Combs loves to share his wealth with his friends!

Love it!

The Locals Not Fans Of Denzel

wenn80146992.jpg

Denzel Washington's movie is just having problem after problem.

We mentioned this past June that production on Denzel's new movie, Unstoppable, came to a halt due to budget issues. That was eventually taken care of and the movie is currently filming in Bellaire, Ohio.

But now it seems the locals in Ohio aren't too pleased with the movie - and neither is the school board.

The parents in the Bellaire area school district are fuming mad that filming of the movie has caused a disruption of the school bus service.

With scenes being filmed this week, the children were forced to endure "long, complicated walks home."

And, according to parents, twelve kids were dropped off at a shopping plaza on Wednesday about 10 to 15 blocks away from their usual stop due to the filming not allowing the bus to go on its usual route.

One parent added that his 12-year-old daughter wasn't sure how to walk home from that point as several streets were closed and it took her an hour to get home, adding that the kids were in danger.

But the school system is taking responsibility for not notifying the parents and apologizing with their superintendent admitting, "We dropped the ball."

Thankfully filming is set to wrap up this today!

Denzel Washington is revisiting The Great White Way!

Denzel will be starring in Fences, a Broadway production of the Pulitzer Prize winning play written by August Wilson.

The Scott Rudin and Carole Shorenstein Hays-produced Fences is expected to open in April and run all the way through July at a yet to be determined theater.

Thoughts???

Denzel Does TV?!

wenn8014253.jpg

He hasn't performed on the tube since 1980, so we doubt that's gonna happen anytime soon!

Although, Denzel Washington is seriously considering an executive producer role on Billy Stiles, a new police drama rumored to be picked up by Fox.

The project, an ensemble series that centers around a genius gang member-turned-cop, comes from the mind of 24 writer Virgil Williams.

We envision Training Day meets NYPD Blue!

Stiles is based on a short story written by Williams six years ago while he was between staff writing jobs. It was frequently used as a writing sample.

If only Denzel would make an appearance!

So Much For Being Unstoppable

wenn-denzelwash98.jpg

A-Lister Denzel Washington is known for his selection of hit films and his most recent project with acclaimed director/producer Tony Scott was on the fast track to start production in a few weeks. But, now, the flick, Unstoppable, has come to an abrupt halt as the studio thinks the cost is too steep for the action-heavy film.

The recession has hit one of the biggest stars on the planet!

The lastest Washington-Scott action flicker, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, failed at the box-office and it has made the studio wary about giving the green-light to another pricey project.

Therefore, negotiations on the salaries of Washington, Scott, and fine Chris Pine, who is playing opposite Denzel, will have to be settled first before the appropriate budget for the physical production can be reached.

Tough economy means less movie magic, we're afraid. But if Denzel takes a pay cut from his usual fee of $20 million a flick, maybe there is a chance it will see the light of day.

Chris Pine Is Unstoppable!

wenn2398658.jpg

Chris Pine may have found his much anticipated follow up to Star Trek!!

The actor is in negotiations to star opposite Denzel Washington in the Tony Scott directed Unstoppable.

The film follows a veteran train engineer (Washington) about to be laid off as part of corporate cutbacks and the new conductor (Pine) hired to replace him. Both find themselves fighting against time to stop an unmanned, half-mile-long freight train carrying enough combustible liquids and poisonous gas to wipe out the city.

Costarring with Denzel and being directed by Tony Scott?!

Good move, Chris!

Will Smith Makes The Money!

will__opt.jpg

Forbes decided to do yet another(!) survey - they gotta keep their writers busy - and they decided to take a look at some numbers.

What did they discover?

They discovered that Will Smith is the most valuable actor in Hollywood.

Smith was the only actor to received a perfect 10 in the Forbes Star Currency survey.

Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Angelina Jolie all tied for second place. The rest of the top 20 include Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington, Meryl Streep, Jack Nicholson, and Matt Damon.

These are the folks who can almost guarantee to pull in numbers at the box office, regardless of the film they're starring in. And with a combined 69 nominations and 15 wins, as far as film awards go, they're not so bad at acting either.

So in an economy where people might not want to spent $10 on a movie they might end up not liking, we bet we'll be seeing Will Smith's face a whole lot more these days!
