In June, Maria Williamson — a server from Mobile, Alabama — was shot in the face when four men attempted to steal her car.

According to the 26-year-old:

"The bullet went through my nose, and damaged my right eye, over the course of the next week I had two surgeries, one of them to remove my right eye."

The suspects — who authorities believe to be teens — have yet to be caught.

While she was recovering, a dog in her vicinity named Bear suffered a similar injury when he was attacked by bigger dog, causing his eye to pop out of its socket.

The puppy was just four-weeks-old.

Bear was taken to the Animal Rescue Foundation, a nonprofit organization that fosters animals and tries to find them a home.

After the cute pup had surgery to remove his damaged eye, staff members of the charity started a crowdfunding page to help pay for his medical fees. Williamson's boyfriend saw the post and immediately told Maria.

After realizing they shared a similar story, she acted quickly in order to ensure Bear had a home.

As it went, Johnson shared a story on Instagram with the corresponding photo (above), describing an unusual first encounter his new puppies Brutus and Hobbs had with the Johnson family pool:

"Here's a fun Labor Day weekend story… We just decided to add two new members to our Johnson family. Baby French Bulldogs. In my right hand is BRUTUS and in my left hand is HOBBS. Bring them home and immediately take them outside so they can start learning how to 'handle their business and potty like big boys.' I set them both down and they both take off in a full sprint and fall right into the deep end of our pool. HOBBS immediately starts doggy paddling while BRUTUS (like a brick) sink heads first to the bottom of the pool."

Ruh-roh!!! Save that puppy, Dwayne!!

It took a little longer than expected to rescue the lad because the 4-year-old was initially having trouble
