Close call!

Last night, the 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, held in El Lay, inducted the likes of Donna Summer, Quincy Jones, Randy Newman, Rush, Albert King, Public Enemy, Heart and Lou Adler!

And while there was a myriad of star-studded guest speakers and performers for the special occasion, including Oprah Winfrey, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters, and John Mayer, one expected performer was NOTICEABLY missing in action:

Christina Aguilera!

The diva, who was expected to join Hudson by posthumously honoring Summers' magnificent career with a performance of Bad Girls and Last Dance, reportedly canceled at the last minute. And her absence is now being said to have been due to

Jennifer Hudson Does Her Best Donna Summer At The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame

When Jennifer Hudson was asked to sing at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony, she took it very seriously, and even got into character!

The singer performed a killer Donna Summer medley of Bad Girls and Last Dance wearing a very divalicious nude beaded one shoulder Pamella Roland jumpsuit.

We love to love you JHud, but we can't say the same about this look. The jumpsuit was too tight and those Spanx were not doing their job. In fact, you could see the cut of the shapewear right through the fabric!

As unflattering as it may be, we'll still give you a 'D' for trying to look like a disco queen.

Thoughts???

Kelly Rowland & Michelle Williams Have A Mini Destiny's Child Reunion In El Lay!

While Beyoncé was off showing her nips to the world, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams were having a mini Destiny's Child reunion of their own Thursday night at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at the Nokia Theater in El Lay.

For the induction of Donna Summer and other music legends, Kelly opted for a black lace dress which (slightly) covered a short and tight leather mini skirt and bra while Michelle wore a black and white Herve Leger bandage gown.

Both women looked IMPECCABLE. Even a decade later and they still know how to make an eye-stopping appearance on the red carpet.

They have us Jumpin' Jumpin'!

Usher Lands A Spot Performing For The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony!

At first we thought Usher was being INDUCTED into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but then we heard it was Donna Summer, Albert King, Quincy Jones and Lou Adler — which made more sense as Usher hasn't really been around long enough to get a nod! Ha!

Usher WILL be there, though! Along with Carole King, John Fogerty, Spike Lee, and Harry Belafonte! They're on the list of performers and presenters for the ceremony!

Usher will be performing for Quincy Jones, which is pretty damn perrrrrfect!

Sounds like an amazing night, and what an honor for everyone involved!

Congrats to those being inducted! You're all LEGENDS!!

Donna Summer, Public Enemy, & Rush Are Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Inductees!

Ah-Mazing!

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced it's 2013 class of inductees, and we're pleased as punch by the bands and artists on the list!

Our fave ones to make the cut include Heart, Rush, Public Enemy, and — obvi — Donna Summer!

Heart wrote one of the best chick-rock songs ever with Crazy on You!

Public Enemy's Flavor Flav and Chuck D fought the powers that be for decades!

After being consistently overlooked, Canadian prog-rockers and Ayn Rand enthusiasts Rush finally get the recognition they deserve!

And, of course, the late/great Donna Summer touched all of us so profoundly that we would never ever argue against her inclusion!

Even I Love L.A. singer Randy Newman is joining in on the fun!

We expect much of the talented class to perform at the Nokia Center induction ceremony in April!

All right, what?!

We were thrilled to find out back in May that this year's upcoming VH1 Divas special would pay tribute to the life and music of dearly departed Whitney Houston, and couldn't wait to learn the line-up of talent to be featured for such an occasion!

However, we're pretty confused to report that in spite of the concert's namesake, this year's line-up warrants that it be re-named VH1 Former Disney Darlings!

That's right, the officially announced tribute to both Whitney and Donna Summer will include performances from Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Ciara, Kelly Rowland, and Jordin Sparks!

…again with the HUH?

While we understand the latter's inclusion, given her involvement in Sparkle, and enjoy ALL the ladies as artists, we just find ourselves a little disappointed that producers couldn't land anyone with a little more, ahem, 'clout!'

In fact, we'd argue that the person who warrants

Death is a sad fact of life.

We've written about A LOT of famous faces that passed away over the last year and we weren't too happy about it, but we are happy to see them being remembered at the Emmys (above).

Andy Griffith, Michael Clarke Duncan, Phyllis Diller, Heavy-D, Andy Rooney, Steve Jobs, Patrice O'Neal, Whitney Houston, Donna Summer, Tony Scott, Mike Wallace, Ernest Borgnine, Dick Clark, and SO MANY more wil be dearly missed.

Rest in peace and THANK YOU ALL for the countless hours of entertainment you've provided for us over the years!
