Jep Robertson is one brave guy!!
Obviously, the experience has been nothing short of emotionally tiring for the reality star, who once struggled with alcohol dependence due to the trauma.
"It's kind of hard for me. It's embarrassing and all that so I didn't do it to get any attention for sure."
We can totally understand why this would be difficult for Jep! At least he has the support of his fans and wife, Jessica Robertson!
The silver lining to the situation is that Robertson has been able to act as an advocate for fellow victims — listen to what he had to say about helping others (below)!
On Tuesday, Jep Robertson revealed he was sexually abused when he was 6 years old.
The Duck Dynasty star discussed the events in his new book, The Good, the Bad, and the Grace of God: What Honesty and Pain Taught Us About Faith, Family, and Forgiveness.
In the book he co-wrote with his wife, Jessica Robertson, the reality star reports that he was molested by an older female student.
"An older girl started sitting next to me. She seemed sweet at first. She'd come sit beside me, like a motherly figure almost. I remember her being sweet and taking care of me. I liked to sit in the back so she'd come sit with me.
After a while the girl started doing strange things. She'd take my hands and push them up under her shirt and tell me I was tickling her. Then she started making me pull down my pants. It was awkward. I didn't know what was going on, but I knew something wasn't right."
However, it seems that the A&E celebrity never reported the abuse.
Guess the Robertson family's controversial ways finally caught up with their overall brand! Bwhaha!
The Duck Commander Musical, based on the outspoken brood from the A&E series Duck Dynasty, will end its run after less than two months of performances in Las Vegas at Rio Hotel and Casino.
The last official "quack" you'll hear from the stage comes May 17 — though tickets were originally on sale through June 30.
Here's what a rep for the production had to say about the news:
Well, at least this is a step in the right direction.
A year after Duck Dynasty patriarch, Phil Robertson, condemned homosexuality and even likened it to BESTIALITY, his son, Willie Robertson, spoke out about his father's controversial comments with Larry King.
Though Willie isn't yet convinced that people are born gay, he says he has become more accepting of the LGBT community after getting to know a few of the show's gay crew members.
The reality star explains:
The youngest of the Duck Dynasty brothers, Jep Robertson, was hospitalized this week after suffering a seizure while deer hunting!
According to reports, Jep was in the stand with people, looking for a deer to shoot, when the seizure struck. His brother Willie rushed to him and Jep was taken to a hospital.
He's still in the hospital because doctors are running tests to find out what caused the seizure, and are looking at any possible infections.
He tweeted about the experience, saying
And though he defended himself as not supporting EVERYTHING they said, he specifically applauded the Robertsons' "family values" right in the midst of their homophobia controversy.
And this time the controversy came from a very different place- what Liam was holding in his hands!
Get your outrage out, because Phil Robertson is speaking once again!
In fact, the Duck Dynasty dad has written an entire book!
unPHILtered: The Way I See It is sure to have more of the interesting viewpoints, let's just call it hatespeech, for which Phil has become infamous.
But Phil says he doesn't care what people think. In fact, he says he understands how people feel about him! He says:
