Oh, and there might be more than one!
SPOILER ALERT! DON'T READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHO'S GETTING HITCHED ON GREY'S ANATOMY.
If you watched last night's musical episode of Grey's Anatomy, you know that Callie accepted Arizona's proposal of marriage after enduring a very trying and traumatic day. Well, expect to feast your eyes upon the lovely ladies' lesbian nuptials on May 5th - and don't expect it to be drama free!
According to sources, the wedding is going to be a nightmare for one of the brides as Callie has to deal with repercussions of her family's lack of acceptance of the union. For some twisty reason undivulged at the time, Hector Elizondo will be reprising his role as Callie's father for the occasion, but he won't be walking her down the aisle. The bearer of this bad news will be Callie's mother, Lucia Torres, played by Gina Gallego, who starts trouble for her daughter on arrival. Sara Ramirez explained to sources:
“What’s really beautiful about this episode is that there is a moment where Callie is really kind of doubting herself and her life and the choices that she’s made. To pick this person to be with for the rest of her life is not received well by her mother and that presents a real difficulty for her because I think she looks to her mother for some kind of emotional embracing around this whole event.”
Well, she might not get the love she wants from her mother, but she sure will get it from her co-workers, especially Mark Sloan (played by Eric Dane…Yum!) who Sara reveals ends up walking her dow the aisle as Dr. Miranda Bailey officiates.
But there is one more twist in the story that we feel inclined to mention. According to reports, two very significant characters were missing from the scene when the ladies shot their wedding - Meredith and Derek!
Could their absence of sign of big things to come for the show's main match? Could they possibly be getting hitched as well on the show! We'll just have to wait and see.
We didn't much care for last night's musical episode, but perhaps this big, emotional overload hour will make up for it.
Thoughts?
