Sony has completely canceled The Interview, refusing to release it to theaters or to VOD and home video.
So then why did they release a new teaser trailer for the Seth Rogen/James Franco vehicle on Thursday night??

One would assume because they quickly removed the clip from their YouTube channel that it was an accident.
But the new clips chosen for the teaser seem to indicate this was engineered post controversy, not to mention what was written in the video's description:
It's low-key Loki! LOLz!!
Usually when we see Tom Hiddleston, he's either dressed impeccably in a suit for a red carpet event or dressed domineeringly as an alien supervillain for Marvel.

But as the handsome actor touched down at LAX on Thursday, he was dressed quite casually — just as he should be for an airport adventure!
Based on their demands relating to Seth Rogen and James Franco's controversial comedy The Interview, the Sony hackers have long been assumed to be based out of North Korea.
But now it's official.

The FBI has now released a statement that it "has enough information to conclude that the North Korean government is responsible for these actions."
Along with the results of their technical analysis, the Bureau also pointed out just how dangerous and destructive this attack was. According to their statement:
Why were the Sony hackers able to get their way and completely shut down The Interview? Too few were willing to stand up to them.
And unfortunately those that did try to fight back somehow were left high and dry.

It turns out one of the people trying to rally the troops to stand up against the terrorist threats was George Clooney.
The Good Night, And Good Luck star, wary of the ramifications of giving in to terrorist demands, believed that the only way to combat the threat was to create a united front.
To that end, he created this petition and presented it to every studio head he could:
