YES!! Our favorite sirens from the decade of grunge have returned and are filling our ears with sweet, syrupy melodies!!
First Fiona Apple gets back in the music biz, and now the lady with one hand in her pocket Alanis Morrisette has announced the August release of new album, Havoc and Bright Lights.
And we have an ethereal taste of what's to come!
Her new track Magical Child twinkles with a soft, dappling of electronic chimes and makes us feel like we're floating serenely through the stars!
The tune sounds VERY different from her feministic alt-rock days, and while we LOVE us some Ironic up in here, we are kinda digging' this transcendental feel, too.
Get in touch with your Magical Child (above), and transport to some far away galaxy…
AHHHH! We opened up Fiona Apple's music box and were swallowed whole!!
Our ears had multiple orgasms when the musical poetess debuted some new tracks at this year's SXSW, and now we are orbiting some far reaching planet because she's JUST released her FIRST, studio-recorded single off her forthcoming album The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw, and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do.
Every Single Night sneaks along like

Yes yes yes yes yes yes.
We were hoping that along with the recent release of her new album artwork and tracklist for The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw, and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do, Fiona Apple would hint at an upcoming tour…
OH MAN did she just deliver.
The lyrical poet has released ALL future dates for the Idler Wheel tour which ignites June 19th at Ithaca, NY’s State Theatre and criss crosses the US and Canada for a Hollywood finale on July 29th.
THIS WILL BE EPIC.
Check out the the FULL tour list…AFTER THE JUMP!!!

Here we go! It's FINALLY coming!
Fiona Apple has not released any new music since her 2005 album Extraordinary Machine, but after a string of concerts this year, during which she's slowly but surely premiered some fresh material, the singer has announced that the follow-up, The Idler Wheel is wiser than the Driver of the Screw, and Whipping Cords will serve you more than Ropes will ever do, will hit shelves June 26th through Epic Records!
Yes! Yes! Yes!
We seriously CANNOT wait!
And you can ch-ch-check out the album art (above) as well as the full tracklist…AFTER THE JUMP!

What a sweet, profound piece of writing!!
One of our favorite soulful songstress’ Fiona Apple is on the verge of making a “comeback” (where did she go??), but a letter she wrote 12 years ago has been making the virtual rounds due to its pertinent content.
Let us illuminate the facts: A 16 year old student called Bill Magee wrote a note to a then 22 year old Fiona - fresh off the release of her second album - to see if she would show her support for his High School’s Gay-Straight alliance.
This is what he got back in response:
YES!
It's been an incredibly long wait, but we're finally getting a taste of Fiona Apple's new music!
The singer recently announced that her follow-up to 2005's Extraordinary Machine would be titled The Idler Wheel is wiser than the Driver of the Screw, and Whipping Cords will serve you more than Ropes will ever do, and during her recent set at the 2012's SXSW Pitchfork showcase at Central Presbyterian Church, she performed some of her new material!
Ch-ch-check out Every Single Night and Anything We Want (above)!
Obsessed!
It's been too long, gurl!
We can't WAIT to hear the studio versions of these!
How about U??!

We think she just might have!
Fiona Apple just wrote the following statement … lyric … something — we don't know, really — on her Facebook:
