Sarah Thomas made headlines last week when she was announced to be the first woman hired by the NFL as a full time official!
The mother-of-three said she was "almost speechless" when she heard the news that she was one of the nine new referees promoted by the league.
While Thomas is honored for the recognition of infiltrating the NFL ref boys club, she makes it clear that she wants to be known for being a great referee! The 41-year-old had this to say in an interview:
Former NFL Player For The New Orleans Saints Sells Superbowl Ring On Craigslist! Find Out How Much He's Asking For It HERE!
Life certainly has its ups and downs.
It's been reported that a former NFL player for the New Orleans Saints is trying to sell his Super Bowl ring from their 2009 season!
A user on Craigslist.com from the Atlanta region claiming to be a "former Saints player" listed the ring for an asking price of $45,000. The ring has 103 round-cut diamonds and totals 2.2 carats!
The same user also asked for $3,500 for a helmet with signatures from players Drew Brees, Jeremy Shockey, Darren Sharper and Reggie Bush — the helmet had the No. 29 on the back.
So, who is the unidentified player?
The NFL has announced that they've hired their first full time woman official to work some of next year's regular season's games!
Unsurprisingly the person they picked was a no-brainer as they chose Sarah Thomas, who has been working for a long time in the college football ranks and who also was the first woman to officiate a NCAA game back in 2007!
She's also spent a lot of time in the NFL's developmental program for officials so you know she's going to be ready once the opening kickoff game happens!
And it isn't just us that's excited!
Oh Say Did You See Mötley Crüe Frontman Vince Neil's Strange Rendition Of The National Anthem?! Watch HERE!
Oh say did you see this yet?
Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil performed the National Anthem at the United States Football League's Las Vegas Outlaws game on Tuesday, and it was… let's say "a little pitchy, dawg."
But while the singing was a bit off, the experience was unforgettable!!
Despite the fact that Vince's Star-Spangled Banner veers off-key quite a lot — and we're not sure all the words were there — this version is still pretty entertaining. And it's all thanks to the vet rocker's showmanship!
Check out the video (below) and fast forward to around the 5:00 mark to get the anthem party started!!
We've been expecting some bogus news stories in celebration of April Fools' Day, but some people are taking it too far!!
For instance, NFL player Bruce Irvin.
The Seattle Seahawk thought that joking about the subject of drunk driving would deliver a ton of LOLz. In an attempt to fool the online community, the athlete tweeted:
That is a huge milestone for the concussion-causing, overly macho sport.
But Sam isn't the only one, according to him! He said:
"I am not the only gay person in the NFL. I'm just saying there is a lot of us. I respect the players that did reach out to me and had the courage to tell me that they were also gay, but they do not have the same courage as I do to come out before I even played a down in the NFL.
Was it a risky move? Yes. But at that moment, the reason why I came out is I thought it wasn't going to be a big deal. Maybe I was naive. Maybe I thought it was 2014, and people will understand that there's gay NFL players. There's gay athletes everywhere. But I was clearly wrong. It was a huge deal.
The players who have reached out to me and told me about their sexual orientation, it just means a lot. But I will never say anything about who they are, what teams they are [on]. I'm just saying there's some famous people, and I'm not the only one."
It'd make sense to assume that obviously there'd be a percentage of gay men playing in the NFL but "some famous" players??
Sam makes it seem like even he was shocked at how many players reached out to him.
We hope others can follow his example. It's time to swing wide the closet doors in professional sports and let the fab out!!
It's 2015 people. The time for equality for all is now. Thank goodness for people like Michael, who are willing to take that first, crucial step!
We were wondering why Miley was so nonchalant about those scandalous photos, but we guess that's because she actually knows the girl that Pat was drinking with!
Apparently, shortly after Miley and Patrick started dating, she went with a group of his friends to a USC game, and Natalie just so happened to be part of their group.
