UPDATE 3:05 P.M. EST: United States District Judge Otis D. Wright signed off on Wednesday to dismiss Mark Salling's case, according to The Blast.

Prosecutors have filed court documents asking the federal judge to dismiss Mark Salling's child pornography case.

As you know, the 35-year-old Glee alum committed suicide on January 30 after pleading guilty to possession of child porn involving a prepubescent minor. He was facing four to seven years in prison, and had previously agreed to pay $50K restitution to each victim. Now, that's all up in the air.

Interestingly enough, TMZ says the U.S. Attorney is asking to dismiss the case "without prejudice," which means they can file the case again in the future if they wish. But, since Salling is deceased, that's probably not going to happen.

We'll keep you updated as decisions are made.

Mark Salling's official cause of death has been revealed.

As we reported, the former Glee star was found dead by a riverbed in Sunland, California earlier this week after an apparent suicide.

Now, the Los Angeles Coroner is confirming the 35-year-old died from asphyxia by hanging and the manner of death is in fact suicide. The case is now closed.

Jane Lynch is continuing to speak out following Mark Salling's shocking death.

As we previously reported, the Glee alum died of an apparent suicide this week, about a month ahead of his prison sentencing for his child porn case (which he plead guilty to back in December). Despite his obvious demons, Salling's peers weighed in on this tragedy by asking fans to respect the controversial actor's loved ones by withholding any cruel comments.

Upon first learning the news, Lynch also added that this whole situation was "tragic and very sad." She further addressed Mark's suicide during a conversation with Us Weekly at the Adopt the Arts' Annual Rock Gala on Wednesday. The celebrated comedienne relayed:

While we don't think Naya will be breaking her silence on his apparent suicide anytime soon, she hit MTV's New York studios ready to talk about her upcoming YouTube Red Originals series, Step Up: High Water.

And thankfully, the momma of one was not asked about Mark at all during the show.

While those close to him are still reeling from news of his suicide, Mark Salling apparently left his victims high and dry in terms of seeking justice, because it appears they may never get the restitution payments that were due to them surrounding his child pornography case.

The former Glee actor was found dead in a relatively remote area on the north side of Los Angeles on Tuesday, the result of an apparent suicide.

And now, all the legal issues he went through — the child pornography arrest, the trial, the guilty plea, and what would have been the sentencing in March — all come to a screeching halt.

A source pretty much confirmed to Us Weekly the exact thing we reported earlier this morning about the legal issues behind a series of $50,000 payments Salling was supposed to have made to his victims for restitution, and it sure sounds like that's not going to happen now after his suicide.

Mark Salling kept his demons to himself in the time leading up to his apparent suicide.

Sources close to the troubled actor said that before his death on Tuesday, which came a month away from facing sentencing after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography, the Glee alum "distanced himself very much from the friends he was closest to."

One insider claimed that most of Salling's friends thought he was "troubled and tormented" but weren't aware of how bad his demons were, telling ET:

"He had a very mysterious side. I felt like I didn't completely know who he was. He enjoyed visiting family in Texas and saw his trips back home as an escape from L.A. and the Hollywood scene."

In addition to visiting his family, the source added that "he would often have friends over to his home in Sunland, [California]" before he was arrested on December 29, 2015.

But after federal investigators found more than 25K images and 600 videos depicting child pornography on computers and thumb drives belonging to him, Salling allegedly turned away from his loved ones and only grew more distant.

Mark Salling left many pieces behind.

As we reported, the former Glee star was found dead on Tuesday by a riverbed in Sunland, California after an apparent suicide. He was one month away from sentencing from his child porn case, which he plead guilty to back in December.

As part of his plea agreement, he was facing four to seven years in prison and was required to pay each victim $50K in restitution.

Unfortunately for the victims, the penalty cannot be imposed by the judge as the plea deal wasn't technically finalized. Their only option now is to sue the 35-year-old's estate for the damages they suffered from his transgressions, according to TMZ.

We'll keep you updated on how it all plays out.
