But the site's founder, Nick Denton, believes the sex tape scandal is far from over. On Friday, after a jury granted the former wrestler $115 million — $15 million more than he asked for — the British journalist released a statement about his legal loss.
The 49-year-old claimed — once again — witnesses and evidence that weren't presented in court could have caused the jury to reach a different decision.
The businessman explained that he and his attorneys are already working on appealing the ruling, saying:
Today is a great day for Hulk Hogan!
On Friday, the jury in the Hulk sex tape scandal ruled in his favor against Gawker media. They also granted Hogan MORE money than the $100 million he asked for.
According to court records, the jury awarded the wrestler $55 million for economic injuries and $60 million for emotional distress. This means H.H. is walking away with $115 million bucks!
Wow! Gawker must be SO upset right now!
So, do YOU think the courts made the right decision?

Drama, drama, drama.
Now that the closing arguments for Hulk Hogan's $100 million lawsuit against Gawker have come to a close, it seems that the NY based website is bracing for a loss.
In case you forgot, the WWE wrestler is suing Gawker for posting a video in 2012 that featured him having sex with his former best friend's wife. Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, and his legal team claim that this decision was a violation of his privacy — especially since the company didn't have the "common decency" to inform the parties featured in the tape that they were releasing it.
In a recent statement, the media site shared:
As you know, Hulk Hogan is dealing with his $100 million lawsuit against Gawker Media for releasing part of a sex tape that shows the the 62-year-old having intercourse with Heather Cole, the ex-wife of his former friend Todd Clem, a.k.a. Bubba the Love Sponge.
Miz Cole testified at Hogan's trial on Wednesday via a videotaped deposition from 2015 in which she claims she didn't know their sexual escapades were being filmed.
Cole also asserts that she had sex with Hogan several times at her ex-husband's request, and she was upset when she learned of the infamous tape:
Hulk is of course currently dealing with his lawsuit against Gawker Media for releasing part of a sex tape that shows the the 62-year-old having sex with Heather Clem, the ex-wife of his former friend Todd Clem, a.k.a. Bubba the Love Sponge.
While the athlete is focusing on giving emotional testimonies in hopes of receiving the $100 million he's seeking for damage and emotional distress among other things, Linda sat down with Inside Edition to reveal she's still not over what happened to her!
The former couple was married in 1983 and lasted until their divorce in 2007 as the athlete's heartbroken ex reveals a letter she wrote to Hulk saying:
"You have single-handedly ruined our 25-year marriage and our family… my trust, my love, my future, our future family with grandchildren, holidays, weddings, our kids' lives, homes, their ability to trust, our poor animals, friends, neighbors, your career, finances, trademarks, retirement, your legacy, your reputation, your health… even your soul… You lost it ALL."
