Kevin Richardson is a total lion whisperer!
So it makes sense that he covered himself in GoPro cameras and ran through the African bush to get lion hugs.
That's right, he's friends with lions and hyenas and they love him as if we were one of their own!
He gets very up close and personal with these beasts and it's truly ahmayzng!
Kevin doesn't just enjoy laying around with big cats… he wants to bring to light the fact that they're numbers are seriously dwindling in the wild!
In the 1950s there were around 100,000 lions in Africa… now? There are only as few as 32,000!
That's awful! Stop hunting lions, people!
They're so beautiful and majestic and cute, don't you want them around for generations and generations to be able to enjoy them??
Check out 15 minutes of Kevin hanging with big cats and hyenas AFTER THE JUMP!!
Ever smell a hyena??
No?! Really?? Oh… well they stink. BAD.
Mainly from a scent gland under their tails.
Many animals like to rub their butts against stuff to make their presence known.
The same is true for hyenas. They can tell sex, age, family or clan and more just by smelling other hyenas' markings.
Scientists have long theorized that these smells aren't made by the animals themselves but
Everyone is getting into the spirit of Halloween!
Even zoo animals are, just like these lions and the (above) hyena cub!!
A spotted Hyena at Berlin Zoo gave birth to a cute baby boy a few months ago, in the middle of summer.
Her little baby, Toki, has a beautiful black coat which will lighten in time, but not before Halloween!
The little cutie got a Halloween surprise from the zoo keepers… a pumpkin!!
He smashed it open and played with it and was just all around cute!
Awwww, we wanna squeeze that little fuzz ball and give him all the pumpkins in the world!
So stankin' cute!

At the Lion Park in South Africa, a worker there caught a Hyena on camera having a blast.
She was rolling around in a big puddle, chasing her tail and doing somersaults!
Such a cutie! We want a hyena now.
