Boy Scouts of America, are starting to sing a different tune!
(And it could be one of Cher's!)
The organization that has a ban on openly gay members and leaders, has embraced an event established by the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network (GLSEN) called "No Name-Calling Week."
A writer for Scouting magazine wrote:
"No Name-Calling Week begins today, so it's an excellent time to remind Scouts and Scouters that these 'harmless' insults can do real damage to a boy or girl."
In the sprite of new found friendship GLSEN'S Executive Director is welcoming Boy Scouts with open arms. She expressed her excitement in a statement, saying,
"I'm delighted the Boy Scouts of America's official publication is calling on its adult leaders to join with the tens of thousands of educators and other youth-serving professionals who are currently observing No Name-Calling Week in order to improve the lives of millions of youth."
She went on to suggest that the all-boy organization consider changing it's policies in the further, adding that,
"The Boy Scouts of America must recognize that gay people can be –- and are –- positive contributors to its vision of building respectful and service-oriented leaders of tomorrow."
We sincerely hope that this is a step in the right direction!

Honestly, we couldn't be more thrilled for her!
One of the most well-deserved nominations in quite some time!
Melissa McCarthy only just found out that she's received an Academy Award nod as Best Supporting Actress for her incredible performance in Bridesmaids, and took the opportunity to discuss her shock before heading to work on her sitcom Mike & Molly!
She reveals:

So lovely! Our eyes are welling up!
Over the weekend, U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords released an inspiring video in which she announced that she'll be retiring from Congress to focus on her recovery.
Then yesterday, Gabby met with Daniel Hernandez, the gay intern who saved her life, for the first time since she was shot in the head last year.
She also met with other survivors of the January 2011 Tuscon, Arizona shooting during a "Congress on Your Corner" event.
We're sure it was an intense, emotional experience for her to reunite with the man who saved her life…and we're sure it was also a fulfilling one.
We continue to wish Gabby the best of luck with her recovery!
What an unbelievable story!!!
A very brave 9-year-old escaped her abductor after she was kidnapped on her way home from school.
The little girl was left with bruises under her eyes, but thankfully, she was able to call 911 when the man's truck broke down near a convenience store. The man was later arrested.
The Justin Bieber fan is now being touted a hero and told reporters that she had her "daddy's fight," which helped save her.
Watch her story above. We're so grateful for the happy ending.

How nice!
Last we heard from Pamela Anderson, she had been cast as the Virgin Mary in A Russell Peters Christmas Special. Ha!
Now, Pam is doing MORE good for the world by selling her 2007 Range Rover on eBay for charity!
Specifically, all the proceeds from the car sale will go directly to Sean Penn's J/P Haitian Relief Organization!
Here's what Pam tweeted about it:

Holy shizz! This guy is super lucky!
Well, other than originally being shot in the head with a nail gun. But let's face it, if you have to be shot in the head with a nail gun, this is probably the best series of outcomes you could have from it!
Dante Autullo was working on a shed when he thought he cut his head with a nail gun (how do you not hear a nail gun go off?), and straight up thought the doctors were joking when they told him a 3 1/4-inch nail was lodged in the middle of his brain.
The nail was millimeters away from the motor-control location in his brain.
He actually thought the nail just soared past his head, as there wasn't really an indication that it went in. He thought the gun just bumped up against his noggin, which would feel like getting punched in the head -- which is what he said it felt like.
Luckily, they removed the nail with very little issue, and the piece of skull with it. He is moving normally and remembers everything!
So glad!
What a scary thing! This is why you wear protection and probably shouldn't use a nail gun around your head!

Oh, how we have waited for this day!
MTV had signed off and given its blessing for 2gether to reunite! The band pitched to the network and MTV was said to be interested although it wasn't a high priority.
The pitch included the 4 surviving members taking over the operation of the reunion show and then handing it to MTV.
MTV will then decide whether or not to air it.
What's even better? A portion of the proceeds will go towards the Michael Cuccione Foundation, named after the fallen member of the group.
The band is looking at Vegas or El Lay for their concert.
Who's ready for some Calculus?!
It doesn't even sound like her until she gets to the vibrato. But then it's like, "Oh, she's just being Miley!"
Miley Cyrus is one of dozens and dozens of artists who are featured on the new album Chimes of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International. In an homage to a great man and a great organization, some of the best in music got together to cover some of Dylan's best songs.
Here is Mileybird's contribution — a softer, more melodic version of You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go. Check out the video (above) to see Miley lay it down.
Not bad. Not bad. We can tell she really gave it her all.
