David Meister is the mind behind the dress, and it might have worked somewhere else, but this wasn’t the place.
Maybe a 50 Shades premiere?
At least she was HIGHlarious, like always, so we got over the fashion flub pretty quickly.

The Emmy Hostess with the most-ess walked the red carpet in a custom eggplant-colored David Meister Signature evening gown and stacks of chunky bracelets on her left arm.
Every time Jane wears purple she seems to win. Lets see if she can keep the purple winning streak going tonight!

Wow!
Jane Lynch really switched it up at this year's Do Something Awards.
Instead of wearing her go-to red carpet designer Ali Rahimi, the Glee star surprised us by slipping into a Alexander McQueen silk chiffon gown.
We really like this look on Jane!
It's so different from the usual purple gowns. In fact, we'd even say she looks sexy in this dress.
