jessica chastains dog is a broadway performer

Ha! Like master like doggie!!

Jessica Chastain is currently starring in the Broadway play, The Heiress, and because she doesn't wanna leave her three-legged pooch, Chaplin at home while she does her acting thing, she brings him with her and lets him chill backstage.

BUT… On Saturday, her fluff ball got bored of being alone, saw his mama performing, and walked onstage like he was part of the show.

Sometimes walking the REAL dog is just too much hassle! LOLz!

Jessica Chastain enjoyed her NYC walk to her Saturday matinee performance of The Heiress with a special gift…

A painting of her preschuzz pooch Chaplin!!!

While the real deal was not with her, we're sure the actress enjoyed having a friendly and ADORBz reminder of her main man.

That's a really GOOD painting too!

Woody Harrelson & Jessica Chastain have got a lot of things going for them.

Add sexiest vegetarians to their list of accolades.

Both are first time winners of PETA's annual contest - Woody (whose been a vegan for nearly three decades), and Jessica (whose been a vegetarian for fifteen years) had to beat out some stiff competition but were successful in the end.

Here's what Woody said:

"I just let people see my energy and how strong I stay."

Here's what Jessica said:

"I don't want to torture anything. It's about trying to live a life where I'm not contributing to the cruelty in the world. … While I am on this planet, I want everyone I meet to know that I am grateful they are here."

Jessica's sweet but look-wise she's OK. Though, we have to admit that Woody definitely gives us a woody.

Looks like Madagascar 3 will have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.

So far, Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom is the only officially announced film as the Festival's opener.

Madagascar 3's Cannes debut is expected to be announced soon.

Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted was described by IMDB as:

"Alex, Marty, Gloria and Melman are still fighting to get home to their beloved Big Apple. Their journey takes them through Europe where they find the perfect cover: a traveling circus, which they reinvent - Madagascar style."

Jeffrey Katzenberg, the CEO of DreamWorks, is a huge fan of Cannes and loves to do international junkets there, even if his film isn't in the festival.

The movie features the whole original cast returning, but also has Bryan Cranston, Martin Short and Jessica Chastain as new characters.

Sounds like a great film full of cute digital animals and talented actors!
