This song came out a couple of years ago, but the death of Donna Summer led us back to it.
Jewel wrote the song The Shape Of You about a friend of hers that died of cancer. It's such an exquisitely beautiful and powerful song. It's one of our favorites of hers!
She is such a gifted songwriter and vocalist!!
Check it out (above)!

Good for her!
She's not going to win an Oscar for it (they don't give Oscars to TV movies, duh!), but we can't wait to see Jewel's portrayal of June Carter Cash in Lifetime's latest biopic.
Unlike Walk The Line, the film which led to Reese Witherspoon's first Academy Award, The June Carter Cash Story is all about June!
It's based off of her

Wow! Wow! Wow!
We were so incredibly touched by this!
The very lovely and sweet Karmin, Cyndi Lauper, Jason Mraz, Kristin Chenoweth, Gabe Saporta, Melanie Amaro, Jewel, Nelly Furtado, Knaan, DJ Pauly D, The Wanted, Usher, Joey McIntyre, Wilson Phillips, Florence Welch, Carly Rae Jepsen and Justin Bieber couldn't be at our big Mad Hatter party this past weekend, but they did take some time to make funnny and touching birthday video messages!
Check them all out above!!!!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!

Aww!
Jewel took to her Twitter today to inform the world that she has penned a short, musically-focused book for the kiddies!
Jewel has used her soulful songstress powers to bring the world a hybrid children's book blending melody, music and rhyme with literacy.
The goal of the colorful hardback/accompanying CD is to teach kids about rhyming at an early age.
Jewel wrote That's What I'd Do while she was pregnant with baby Kase, wishing to create something beautiful her son would love.
The singer exudes enthusiasm for her novel creation:
“I'm really excited for moms to get to sit down and read this to their babies because it's really a devotion for lyrics,I hope all mothers get to feel that it's a love letter to their kid. You can play the CD in your car or read the book at night before bedtime.”
That's What I'd Do will be released on September 18th, 2012.
Absolute cuteness. We are loving the cover illustration!

Kelly Clarkson has room on her plate for another singing competition.
And it's not American Idol.
Kelly has been tapped to be a guest mentor on The Voice, appearing alongside Blake Shelton as his guest.
She joins Miranda Lambert as Blake's guests. But don't worry; Adam, Xtina, and Cee-Lo have guest of their own!
The other mentors have more diverse guests in their corners.

Watch out, Sarah Palin! U've got some competition!
Check out the promo (above) for Discovery's Alaska: The Last Frontier, which premieres tomorrow at 10 pm ET/PT.
Should be an interesting enough show, ESPECIALLY because some of the episodes revolve around Jewel's family!
She should TOTALLY make a cameo on the show! Ha!
What do U think? Will U tune in for Alaska: The Last Frontier???

After speaking with her just a week ago, we knew it was going to happen any day now!
Jewel popped Monday evening, welcoming a baby into the world.
Weighing it a healthy 7 lbs., 6 oz., she and bull rider hubby Ty Murray named their new little one Kase Townes.
What a good, sturdy name!
Even though she gave birth less than 24 hours ago, Jewel has already spoken about the new addition to her life, saying:
"Ty and I are so pleased to welcome our new baby boy into the world. We are overcome with happiness – it really is as great as everyone told us it would be – better even!"
We can only imagine! So happy for you three! Can't wait to meet the little guy!
