This is the kind of thing that makes Johnny Depp not only an exceptional actor but also a super awesome dude!

While in the UK promoting his newest flick, Public Enemies, Johnny gave a few very sick kids the thrill of a lifetime. He went to visit them at the Great Ormond Street Hospital dressed as his Pirates Of The Caribbean character Captain Jack Sparrow!!!

Amazeballs!

Johnny visited several wards, including the one his daughter was admitted to when she was treated for kidney failure in 2007, and graciously posed for pictures with all his young fans.

A source recalls: "Johnny was so friendly with all the children in the ward and they absolutely loved his pirate outfit. He spoke to lots of the youngsters and staff - and made their day by posing for pictures with them all."

He's done this kind of thing before. And for him to do it again, that just makes Depp first-rate class act in our book.

Bravo, Johnny!

At least in China!

A new Chinese government-mandated internet filter software deems pictures of Paris Hilton, Garfield, roast pork and Johnny Depp as harmful to your moral health!

Beijing ordered that all personal computers sold in China after July 1 must have the Green Dam software installed, which is designed to block pornographic and violent images.

How is roast pork violent or pornographic?!

Critics of the software fear that it will be used to extend censorship!

When the software is installed, it blocks harmless images such as the film poster for cartoon Garfield, dishes of flesh colored cooked pork and a close up of Johnny Depp's face.

Maybe they are scared that people will start feeling their cat Italian food, roast pork may satisfy the urge for human flesh and Johnny's face would get the ladies all riled up!

With the image filter off, searches with words like "nude" are blocked, but if you're on the hunt for adult websites you can find links to soft and hardcore porn.

Looks like someone need to go back to the drawing board!

Unfortunately, the software has been programmed to filter categories including "gay" and "illegal activities", which health activists fear will limit resources to sexual health and AIDS education.

Government critics worry the "illegal activities" section will cover political and social activities not approved by Beijing, which would further impede on the freedom of their citizens!

During a Christie's auction of entertainment items, Edward Scissorhands' scissorhands was one of the top earners, selling for an astounding $16,000!!!

That's some expensive scrap metal!

The prop, composed of steel, leather, painted rubber and foam-latex, was only expected to garner $5,000!!!!!

We're sure the winner of this fetish item has some fun-filled weekends in their future!!!

After years of avoiding the spotlight, Harrison Ford has made quite the comeback!!!!

The Indiana Jones star tops Forbes' annual list of Hollywood's highest earning actors!

Ford came out of near retirement for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and was offered a deal to split the proceeds of the film, which earned him $65 million between June 2008 and June 2009.

Impressive!!!

Other actors who came close include Adam Sandler, Will Smith, Eddie Murphy, Nicolas Cage and Johnny Depp.

Ford's still got it!!!!!

Johnny Depp said he'd make another one, so they're making another one!

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer is finding himself very busy these days as he admits to be in the midst of working on the next installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. The word is that the film will be gracing screens as soon as 2012 and Bruckheimer admits he's seen some pages of the script and can guarantee a very Jack Sparrow-centric venture.

“Disney’s priority is to get Pirates made," he says. "That's a great franchise for them and for us too. Beloved, with a great character and Johnny's really excited about coming back to Captain Jack."

The push forward with the new Pirates film puts another Depp/Disney project on the back-burner. The Mouse has wrangled Johnny to play Tonto in an updated version of The Lone Ranger and the flick was slated to film first, but now that is no longer the case.

We're really excited for more Pirates, but the Lone Ranger? Really?

Martin Scorsese is set to helm an authorized biopic of Frank Sinatra and….. Universal's first choice for the role is the talented Johnny Depp.

The film will not require that its lead know how to sing, as it will utilize Sinatra's own recordings through a deal with Frank Sinatra Enterprises.

It will be the first time that Scorsese and Depp work together and the results ought to be interesting.

After all, Johnny was a kick ass Hunter S Thompson!

Johnny Deep is back at work - and looking caliente doing it!

The serious actor is currently in Puerto Rico, on the set of his latest film, The Rum Diary, based on Hunter S. Thompson's novel.

Johnny also starred in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, another movie based on a novel by Thompson.

Shooting for the The Rum Diary began last week with Bruce Robinson as the flick's writer and director.

The flick is set in the 1950s-era and centers around a "journalist who leaves New York to work for a newspaper in San Juan," Puerto Rico.

The movie also marks the debut film for Infinitum Nihil which just happens to be the production company run by Johnny and his sis.

And with the movie being filmed entirely in PR, we're sure the tourist and locals will love having Depp around to stare at. We wouldn't mind!
