kara-dioguardi-chicago-debut-curtain-call.jpg

We haven't read the reviews yet, but judging from the smile on her face, at least it looks like she had a great time with it.

Kara DioGuardi debuted on Broadway last night with her first performance as Roxie Hart in Chicago. Starring alongside Amra-Faye Wright, she tapped, sang and twirled her way onto the ever-growing list of Hollywood ladies to get a start on the Great White Way with a little Hart!

Check out the gallery (below) to see some pics from her opening night!

Congrats, Kara! Hope it was everything you wanted to be!

Kara DioGuardi Talks About Her Chicago Debut

kara-dioguardi-roxi.jpg

We're going to be straight with you girl - we don't have too high of hopes for you. Just because you can write music doesn't mean you can perform it. Here's your chance to prove us wrong though.

Starting September 5th, Kara DioGuardi will take over the role of Roxie Hart in the Broadway production of Chicago. It's a pretty lofty role for a debut and to be frank, we don't think she fits the part, but according to Kara, she has more in common with her character than we think. She explains:

Congrats girl!

Kara DioGuardi is about to make her Broadway stage debut in the fifth longest-running production in Broadway. The former American Idol judge is poised to take over the role of Roxie Hart in Chicago for Christie Brinkley once she leaves to take the role in London.

A pretty big role for your debut, and a stellar one none the less.

Break a leg!

Kara DioGuardi Claims Being An Idol Judge Was "Torture"

Kara Says Idol Was Torture

Kara DioGuardi, arguably the fans least favorite judge (we thought she held her own!), has written a memoir and recently had a chat with Matt Lauer about the show and how it affected her.

We can definitely understand the daunting task of being the one to "mix things up" on a show that has a huge following and a pretty set way of doing things. We can also understand that people didn't really know what Kara did or really who she was in the scheme of it all, including the industry.

Here's what she had to say about her experience:

“It took the viewers awhile to understand why I was there. It was like I broke up the Beatles.”

[S]he describes American Idol as being “mentally, physically, and emotionally challenging… it was torture.”

“I think they wanted to mix it up. They wanted the chemistry to be fresh. It was really difficult to come into something so established.”

“I have to say I have nothing but love for American Idol. I came through it. I’m stronger for it. I got to face some really big fears.”

Well, we're glad that you aren't throwing the show to the wolves, even it it was torture of you. Having a positive outlook on it is much healthier, and believe it or not — the show did a lot for you career in bring you to the attention of everyone who watched, which, as we know, is a balls-load of people!

Hope everything is going well post-Idol!

Will U be reading Kara's book?

Kara Dioguardi Trying To Spin Her Failure On Idol!

web-dioguardi.jpg

Kara Dioguardi is full of shit surprises!

According to a source, Kara has been trying to leave American Idol for some time now.

"She went to Fox two months ago and told them she didn't want to do another season. She's ready to move on. She did two years and thinks that's enough."

PUHLEASE!! The source goes on to spew more bullshit talk about Kara’s “contractual obligations” to Fox, which apparently prevent her from taking meetings with other companies.

"It's frustrating because she can't even take any meetings…everyone wants to know what her schedule will be like, but she doesn't know. What happens if Fox tells her they still want her for next season?"

Um, we don’t buy this for a second. This is Kara planting stories and trying to cover up her embarrassing exit from Idol.

Stop trying to spin this, Kara! You lost this battle!

Even Ad Buyers Are Sick Of American Idol

american5a9146479a0e62eee26d24b8d1433d42__opt1.jpg

We don't blame 'em!

According to a survey, ad buyers were asked various questions about the upcoming season of American Idol, including who their favorite judge is and how many seasons they think the singing competition has.

Most of the participants said that Simon Cowell was their favorite judge and that they believe this next season should be their last.

Ouch!

Many of them even agreed with Fox's decision to get rid of judges Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi.

As predicted, ad buyers believe that AI's ratings will most likely fall dramatically now that Simon is out and producers are scrambling to find the right mix on the judges panel.

Here's an easy answer: PICK PEREZ!!
