Leave it to Karl Lagerfeld to turn probably one of the world's most famous dolls into a real fashion icon!

In honor of Barbie's 50th anniversary, toy maker Mattel is "introducing" the doll into the fashion industry.

This month, Barbie and Ken will be on display at France's Colette boutique. But, making the occasion even more special, Unkle Karl Lagerfeld is dressing the dolls that will be displayed in the windows of the famed Paris boutique.

The exhibit will start on March 9th and last through the 28th.

They'll even be a whole week in March when the store will display the first ever Barbie and Ken dolls created.

Barbie will be dressed by Lagerfeld in everything from dresses to swimsuits, jeans, and even a Chanel suit.

Those little doll dresses would probably still cost more than the average person could spend on a real dress.

That lucky Barbie bitch!

Uncle Karl, "Fashion Dinosaur," Speaks, Makes No Sense

karrrl.jpg

Okay, if you can explain to us the logic behind Karl Lagerfeld's thinking, we'll give you a cookie!

Discussing the use of fur in fashion, the Gloved One reasoned that the hunters who produce fur "make a living having learnt nothing else than hunting, killing those beasts who would kill us if they could," but that the "beasts" should be killed "nicely" if possible.

Uh…really?

Although he admits that eating meat sometimes makes him "queasy" he also said that "in a meat-eating world, wearing leather for shoes and clothes and even handbags, the discussion of fur is childish."

PETA, in return, had some elegant words for Mr. Lagerfeld, saying, "Karl Lagerfeld is a fashion dinosaur who is as out of step as his furs are out of style. The vast majority of fur these days comes not from hunters as he suggests, but from Chinese fur farms, where no law protects the millions of animals who are routinely beaten and skinned alive," adding, "Lagerfeld’s childish refusal to acknowledge the needless suffering behind every piece of fur and listen to public opinion means that he is being overtaken in the style stakes by an increasing number of designers who believe that cruelty has no place in fashion."

Lagerfeld also shared some of his ideas regarding the use of size zero models in fashion, a practice that has come under attack as a major cause of rising cases of eating disorders among young men and women. He said that "there are nearly 30 per cent of young people who are too fat. So let's take care of the zillions of the too fat before we talk about the percentage that's left."

Everyone should be taken care of! An eating disorder is just as unhealthy as obesity!

Karl Lagerfeld Is Coming To The States

wenn1120963__opt.jpg

Real estate crisis? What real estate crisis?

In the world of Karl Lagerfeld, that sort of stuff doesn't exist.

In fact, he is going to save the U.S. economy with the six-bedroom, 1840 landmark building on an island in Lake Champlain, Vermont that he just plunked down a nice chunk of change for.

Why Vermont?????

Oh, of course he's already picked out the curtains! Something along the lines of a Vilhelm Hammershoi painting.

“I love it. It’s very much Emily Dickinson," he said backstage at a Chanel show.

He plans on staging new Chanel campaigns out of the new property, the landscape of which is similar to that of his Northern European home.

Maybe he will sprinkle some designer pixie dust and all will be fixed!

Ferosh!

Karl Lagerfeld is doing his civic duty!

According to reports, Unkle Karl is the star of a new French road safety campaign.

The caption in the ad reads, "It's yellow, it's ugly, it doesn't go with anything, but it could save your life."

The campaign was launched Wednesday.

French drivers will soon be required to keep security vests and flashing red warning triangles in every car.

The Frenchies will have to use the vest and triangle every time they pull over with an emergency.

And, no, unfortunately, the vests are not designed by Chanel!

How Tragic

Poor Kate Bosworth!

When Karl Lagerfeld looks better than you, you know you are doing something WRONG.

The fashion designer looks his usual fab self and the pin thin actress, not so much, at the Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC on Monday night.
