Kelly (Finally) Hits The Road

kellyyyyyy.jpg

Kelly Clarkson cancelled her big arena tour earlier this summer due to poor ticket sales and a dud of an album.

Despite that, the American Idol alum is soldiering on, hitting the road this fall - and for that we've gotta give her props.

Kelly is playing small 2500 seat venues, even casinos!

American Idol alum Kelly Clarkson showed off her new hair at Tao nightclub in Vegas this past weekend.

We like the hair, but…..

Why is she dressed like a 40-something year old soccer mom????

Those shoes are going to give us nightmares!

Jealous Bitch

mekellyclay.jpg

Kelly Clarkson came out to support The Gayken at his concert in Los Angeles this past weekend, and PerezHilton.com reader Camilla and her friend got to meet them both.

This is what she has to report back to you, Perezcious readers:

"On Saturday night, my friend and I went to the Clay Aiken concert at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles. After the show we snuck backstage and ran into Clay saying goodbye to Kelly. I took this moment to interrupt and take a picture with both of them (attached) Kelly and Clay are two of the nicest celebrities I have ever met. Clay made a joke about being jealous of Kelly because we wanted her picture too. Kelly was glad to make it happen. They were both so down to earth, funny and nice."

Kelly To Release New Album In Months! Making Things Right!

74711384.jpg

Finally!

Following the critical and commercial disappointment of her most recent album, My December, and the controversy surrounding it, Kelly Clarkson has agreed to start working on a new album right away, which will be released in 2008.

Clarkson's last album, Breakaway, sold a whopping six million copies in the U.S. alone. My December is expected to sell only about 850,000.

It seems like Kelly has realized the error of her ways and is taking the appropriate steps to ensure she gets her career back on track.

My December, which was released just weeks ago, was shelved by music mogul Clive Davis for months because he didn't think the album had any hits.

Clarkson ended up cancelling her poor-selling summer tour and firing her manager, as a result of all the dramz.

Realizing the error of her ways, Kelly took the bold move of apologizing publicly to Clive Davis earlier this week.

The new album that Clarkson is recording will definitely be more radio friendly and promises to have the big pop hits this recent album lacks. Davis is overseeing the new project from its inception.

Quote Of The Day

kelllyc.jpg

"There has been quite a bit of controversy surrounding the release of My December, much of which has focused on a supposed feud with my record label, in particular, Clive Davis. I want to set the record straight on this by saying that I want my band, my advisors, those close to me and my record label to be one big, tightly knit family. Like any family we will disagree and argue sometimes but, in the end, it's respect and admiration that will keep us together. A lot has been made in the press about my relationship with Clive. Much of this has been blown way out of proportion and taken out of context. Contrary to recent characterizations in the press, I'm well aware that Clive is one of the great record men of all time. He has been a key advisor and has been an important force in my success to date. He has also given me respect by releasing my new album when he was not obligated to do so. I really regret how this has turned out and I apologize to those whom I have done disservice. I would never intentionally hurt anyone. I love music, and I love the people I am blessed to work with. I am happy that my team is behind me and I look forward to the future."

Kelly's Steep Slide

kellysteepslide.jpg

We're starting to really feel sorry for Kelly Clarkson. She keeps going from one low to another.

Her disastrous new album, My December, came in second on the U.S. album chart's last week, debuting below Hannah Freaking Montana!

Now, in it's second week in release, Kelly's album is sliding much higher than usual, having a 61% drop off in sale - according to Hits Daily Double. The album sold 116,364 copies this week, good enough for the #3 spot on the album charts.

Clarkson, once again, came behind Miley Cyrus, whose Hannah Montana 2 album sold a healthier 186,567 copies and only had a 42% drop off in sales from last week.

T.I. took the top slot this week with his new record, T.I. vs T.I.P debuting at #1 with 465,984 albums sold.

The only other notable debut this week is Kelly Rowland. The former Destiny's Child member's second solo CD came in at #6 with 83,746.

Meanwhile, sources tell PerezHilton.com that RCA Records and its head honcho, Clive Davis, have all but abandoned any "future plans" to promote Kelly Clarkson's new CD. Instead, Davis has moved onto Idol sweetheart Carrie Underwood's follow-up to her 6-million selling Some Hearts CD.

When Clarkson's My December failed to debut at #1 last week, RCA pulled almost all of their summer campaign of tv and print spots and have moved on to Underwood's much anticipated fall release, we are hearing.

Bummer.

Poor Kelly!
