As we reported, Kesha was supposed to perform at the Billboard Music Awards on May 22 until Dr. Luke heard that the We R Who We R singer was reportedly going to make references about their lawsuit on stage.
The 29-year-old vehemently denies such claims, saying her now-cancelled performance "never had anything at all to do with" the music producer.
UPDATE 7:04 P.M. EST: SIKE! Dionne Warwick tells The Hollywood Reporter that Lady GaGa WILL star in her biopic. Apparently, her music reps knew about the project and NOT her film reps. Warwick says:
"It is just a question of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing… I'm waiting now for an email from either her and or management letting me know that all the retractions that have been tracted will be retracted."
Glad this is cleared up!
Well, that's awkward.
On Friday, R&B legend Dionne Warwick announced her own upcoming biopic Dionne at the Cannes Film Festival!
At the event, Warwick revealed she would be played by Destiny's Child alum LeToya Luckett, noting the film would also star Olympia Dukakis, Danny Glover, and Lady GaGa — who was signed to play Dionne's "musical nemesis" Cilla Black!
And if the casting of GaGa as the English singer sounded too good to be true, it's because it WAS!
On Wednesday, it was reported that Kesha is preparing a "statement performance" for this year's Billboard Music Awards, and it's supposedly ALL about her drama with the record producer. Oh snap!
Sources have dished to TMZ that the Die Young artist is prepping for "a marquee performance" for the live awards show in Las Vegas on May 22 on ABC. Reportedly, the Tik Tok singer is planning to make DIRECT references about Luke and may even include images of him during her number.
On Saturday, Kesha performed Lady GaGa's emotional ballad Til It Happens To You at The Humane Society Gala – and boy, did she not disappoint. Of course, this powerful performance comes not long after the pop starlet made headlines for going head to head against Dr. Luke after accusing him of verbal and sexual assault.
But in a new interview with PeopleStyle, Katy Perry actually revealed she usually feels pretty restricted when it comes to her outfit choices for the big night.
"For me, Met Gala, it's great, it's so much fun, it's the best party, but you're a little bit beholden to designers you know. When I create my own costumes for tour, it's like whatever the f*ck I want to do. It's just like larger than life. It's like: Can it move, can it smell, can it — blah, blah, blah, blah?"
Wow. Go big or go home, right Katy Kat??
The pop singer continued, referencing her 2010 lit up gown:
