Designer Michael Angel is setting the record straight on Gwen Stefani's amfAR Gala gown.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Angel said the reports of Gwen not designing the dress are completely false!

The statement read:

"Earlier this week a former employee from my camp spoke to the press without having full knowledge of the collaboration between Gwen Stefani, L.A.M.B., and me. I strongly want to reassure everyone that the dress was designed by Gwen Stefani for L.A.M.B. to wear and be auctioned off at the amfAR gala. I'm disappointed that the focus has shifted away from what Gwen and I originally intended, which was to create a custom outfit for a great cause. We both were thrilled with the outcome and enjoyed the process. I have nothing but respect for her and look forward to working with her on more projects in the future. I can assure you that this is my only comment on this matter and any other quotations or statements written on my behalf are false."

And there you have it.

You know that gorgeous L.A.M.B. gown Gwen Stefani designed and wore to the amfAR Gala last week? Turns out she had nothing to do with it.

The real designer behind the gown is Michael Angel and needless to say he's pretty peeved about not getting credit since he "designed the dress specifically for Gwen".

To add insult to injury, Angel's creation was auctioned off that night and billed as "a creation of her own, by L.A.M.B.".

At the end of the night not Gwen's dress sold for $125,000 with the proceeds benefiting AIDS research. So really, he shouldn't be THAT mad about this whole situation. That's a lot of money going to a great cause!

When we saw Gwen Stefani at the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala in Cannes on Thursday night we were blown away at how stunning she looked.

The designer's dress du jour is a custom L.A.M.B. mermaid gown and she struck the sickest pose for the photogs.

As we all know, Japan holds a special place in Gwen Stefani's heart and to show her love, she's holding an auction to raise money relief efforts.

The eBay auction begins on Monday the 11th and will run in two stages: the first from April 11 - 18 and the second from April 18 - 25.

Items up for grabs include limited edition t-shirts, vintage L.A.M.B. outfits from Gwen's own closet, and a chance to meet the singer slash designer at a Harajuku-themed tea party in El Lay.

All proceeds from the auction will benefit Save the Children’s Japan Earthquake-Tsunami Children in Emergency Fund.

CNN sat down with the multi-talented Gwen, where she dished on all things fashion and style.

On why she started LAMB:

"I started the line honestly because nine or 10 years ago I didn't know how long I would be doing music. They ask you 'What are you going to do in 10 years,' and I didn't know, I just thought by then I want to have a family and I'm not going to be doing music but I wanted to do something creative."

On designing:

"For me the line is genuinely for myself. I want to make a line of clothes that I want to wear — it's kind of selfish…I'm not going to ever be a Vivienne Westwood. I'm trying to make clothes to wear everyday, that's what LAMB is. It's not a couture line."

On fashion and style:

"I think fashion is more of a fun sort of thing. It's an expression of yourself and your personality and your mood, it's not something we take super deep."

We like her approach to fashion! It should always be fun.
