Contestant La'Porsha Renae brought down the house on American Idol Thursday night with an incredible rendition of Mary J. Blige's No More Drama.

And the performance had extra special meaning for both the competitor AND judge Jennifer Lopez.

In a video package that ran before her live performance, La'Porsha revealed that she had been in an abusive relationship that she managed to end shortly before beginning on Idol.

Then, when she came out with her performance this week, the emotions ran over the entire room.

Mad Max: Fury Road May Be Leading The Oscar Race After Dominating Critics' Choice Awards Nominations — See The Full List HERE!

The nominees for the Critics' Choice Awards were just announce and we're pretty happy with the results!

George Miller and Tom Hardy's Mad Max: Fury Road ended up being the biggest winner as it leads the list with 13 nominations which include Best Picture, Best Actress for Charlize Theron and Best Director for Miller.

After taking the Online Film Critics Society Awards by storm this weekend, the Oscars buzz for the flick is as loud as a flamethrowing guitar!

But don't worry, if you are a fan of Carol, The Martian, or The Revenant, then you'll be pretty pleased as each of those flicks nabbed nine nominations!

This year Fargo ended up landing the top spot in television with eight and The Leftovers and Transparent are both right behind the FX drama with six.

But the best and most surprising nominations were You're the Worst, The Knick, and the much deserved Best Drama Series nomination for Rectify!

The Wiz Live Soared Above Peter Pan Live In The Ratings — But Neither Came Close To THIS TV Musical!

Anna Kendrick wasn't the only one who tuned in to watch NBC's The Wiz Live!

Not only did the special starring Queen Latifah and Mary J. Blige charm critics, but it KILLED in the ratings compared to last year's musical Peter Pan Live!

The Wiz averaged a 3.4 rating for adults 18-49 and 11.5 million viewers on Thursday night, while Peter Pan scored a 2.3 rating and 9.1 million viewers!

With The Wiz's talented cast — including the breakout performance of lead star Shanice Williams — we're not surprised people couldn't help but tune in!

Neither broadcast came close to 2013's The Sound of Music Live starring Carrie Underwood! Broadcast TV's first live musical in years scored a 4.6 rating and a whopping 18.6 million viewers!

We'll see if Fox can take on that ratings benchmark when Grease: Live takes the stage on January 31!

On Thursday, NBC aired its much-anticipated special The Wiz Live!, and boy, did it not disappoint!

The 3-hour special was filled with amazing sets, fabulous dancing, and of course, SPECTACULAR musical numbers!

The star-studded cast includes musicians such as Ne-Yo and Mary J. Blige, but the real standout was newcomer Shanice Williams who played Dorothy!

We smell a star in the making!

Apple Music executive Jimmy Iovine was on CBS This Morning on Thursday talking about music for women — when he made a remark that was widely viewed as sexist!

Host Gayle King was asking Iovine about Apple Music's new advertisements — starring Mary J. Blige, Kerry Washington, and Taraji P. Henson – which center around the idea of an "instant boyfriend mixtape service."

Iovine explained why the company is trying to attract more female customers for its music:
