Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been enjoying marital bliss for the last few months, even without what could have been the best present ever.
To celebrate their nuptials, the actress was ready to plunk down $250,000 for the typewriter of none other than legendary writer Ernest Hemingway!
L.A. Police Commission President Steve Soboroff has a crazy cool typewriter collection, which included Ernest's 1926 Underwood, so Miz Jolie called him up! Or rather, her agent did.

This is the same typewriter that Hemingway used to create his late 1930s works as well as For Whom The Bell Tolls!
Initially, Angelina wanted Tennessee Williams' typewriter, but Soboroff said no, so she took one of his two Hemingway typewriters.
However, after Angie sent an $11,000 check as a deposit, she decided not to go through with the deal. Maybe it was just Tennessee Williams or bust!
Either way, she didn't ask for the money back, but Soboroff returned her check anyway.
It's the thought that counts, right?!
