OMG! We just got chills!
And there’s sure to be more where those came from if this news turns out to be true!
Nothing (and we mean NOTHING) has been confirmed yet but hints are being dropped left and right about the return of Rust Cohle for Season 2 of True Detective!
But seeing how Matthew McConaughey only signed up for a single 8-episode season of the HBO series, would he consider reprising his role again?
It sounds like that right there is a distinct possibility!
Matthew recently spoke about his initial deal to star in what would be the smash cable hit, saying:
"That was always how I saw it. One season, eight episodes, a finite beginning, middle and end, goodbye, look forward to watching it. If HBO had wanted an option on me for a season two or three, I wouldn't have done it.”
But now that he’s seen the success that the show has had, Matthew might want to come back for Season 2!
"I liked True Detective, the whole series and the experience of making it, so much that I'd be open to doing another one now. At the time, I was looking at six months and not beyond that. I don't know of a feature film I'd sign for where I'm going to say, 'If this works, you've got me whenever you want me for the next three years'."
As we previously reported, the crime drama will likely feature three leads when it returns to TV, one of which was rumored to be Jessica Chastain!
Imagine how hard HBO Go is going to crash if all of this gets solved and we see Jessica, Matthew and another A-lister in these roles?!?
Be still our heart…
Be still for now because when True Detective comes back, you’re going to be pounding out of our chests!
