Honestly, the one thing we never understood about the "female hippo" insult launched at Melissa McCarthy's weight by Rex Reed of the New York Observer, is the need for the "female" part of it. It's not as if we don't know that Melissa's a woman, and it's not as if anyone would say that a female hippo is that much different than a male hippo… it just doesn't make sense ALONG WITH SAYING IT IN THE FIRST PLACE!

If you didn't know, Melissa McCarthy is hilarious. She's one of the funniest actresses we have out there, and yet people can't seem to get past the fact that she's not as skinny as other ladies in her field! It has nothing to do with how funny she is, and yet it's brought up constantly!

Well, now Melissa is responding the fact that Rex's article was even printed:

Something is FOR SURE off with Melissa McCarthy on the new UK poster for The Heat!!

The HIGHlarious actress' face and neck have been VERY obviously altered to make her appear thinner.

And we just can't understand why the peculiar makeover was done!!!

Not only do we all know she doesn't look like that, but it was a completely unnecessary alteration! Seriously, photo editors?! What's wrong with you?!

Besides the fact that this is a HORRIFIC example of the impossible beauty standards across the world, we love the REAL, beautiful Melissa and we don't want our gurl's face to be modified in ANY way.

Melissa IS plus-sized and gurlfriend OWNS it, so the rest of us should too!! Don't be screwing with perfection, people!

Being a mommy is a tough gig, but being a mommy AND a movie star with a very busy shooting schedule is downright INSANE!

Costars Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock probably know this better than anyone, as they both had to juggle parenthood with their careers while shooting The Heat!

The hilarious ladies said they had a hard time leaving their families behind for such a long period of time and sometimes they even feel guilty about not seeing their kiddies more often.

Sandra says:

Who doesn't love a lady who just goes for it?

We're certainly on board with that especially when it results in something HIGHlarious!

And we're not the only ones because Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy not only love that trait, but they fell for each other because of it!

The two ladiez will have us all cracking up this summer with their new flick, The Heat, and it sounds like this awesomesauce pairing was a long time coming.

While chatting with Parade magazine, Sandra revealed what made Melissa such a star on the set:

Melissa McCarthy’s directorial debut hasn’t been going too smoothly.

Following her decision to fire an extra for mistreating her daughter, it seems the HIGHlarious actress has taken some added precautions on set of her upcoming comedy TAMMY!

Extras have been sternly ordered to maintain a “RESPECT FOR PRIVACY” during filming. More specifically, they must refrain from taking any photos of the actress and her co-stars, Susan Sarandon, Kathy Bates, Dan Akroyd, and Toni Collette.

A casting agent wrote the following:

We hate it when we see parents mistreating their kids, but what can you do besides give them a dirty look or exchange few words they won't even listen to?

Well, if you're Melissa McCarthy, you can fire their abusive a$$!

STOP WHATEVER IT IS YOU’RE DOING! We have some VERY exciting news!

Kristen Wiig is coming back to Saturday Night Live!! Well, sort of.

The HIGHlarious actress will be returning to studio 8H to host SNL on May 11th, and it will be her first appearance since she left the show at the end of last season! Needless to say we’re SUPER stoked!

We were a little disappointed that Kristen didn’t make a surprise appearance when her good friend Melissa McCarthy hosted earlier this month, but we knew she couldn’t stay away for long!

And as if the news wasn’t exciting enough, the musical guest will be Vampire Weekend!!

But wait, there’s more!

It has also been announced that Ben Affleck will be hosting the very next weekend with Kanye West, and with Zach Galifianakis taking over on May 4th with of Monsters and Men, it’s looking like it’s gonna be a GREAT month for SNL!

But lets be real here. Kristen is DEFINITELY the one we’re most excited to see back in action! Hopefully we’ll get to see a little bit of Gilly, the Target Lady, or maybe even a Bjork impression!
