New Rumored Ghostbusters Reboot Plot! But Wait — Is It Too Similar To The Original?!

They came, they saw… have we seen this before?

The last couple weeks we've gotten quite a bit of Ghostbusters news — major announcements like Chris Hemsworth joining the cast, and the director Paul Feig teasing the slime for his upcoming all lady reboot, filming has begun. Yesterday we even got our first glimpse of Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, and Leslie Jones on set!

But today there's a bit bigger news if it's true!

A new rumor is flying around about the plot of the film. According to a source, Boston Herald is reporting that Wiig and McCarthy are both unrecognized authors who write a book proposing the idea that ghosts are real. After a few years under the radar, Wiig gets a job at Columbia U and the book resurfaces and she's ultimately laughed out of the University.

It's soon after this that Wiig's character teams up with McCarthy and the other two future Ghostbusters. This is when Wiig has the last laugh when ghosts start to invade Manhattan and only her and her team can exterminate them and save the world!

We're definitely intrigued by Feig's take on the reboot and excited by the casting of Hemsworth — we just hope it's going to have a new fresh take and not mirror the original too much. It's bad enough that they're remaking rebooting one of the all time classic comedies, but if they going to, make sure to make it NEW!

What do you think? If the rumor is true do you feel it's a bit too similar to the original?

Melissa McCarthy Says She's 'Selfish' For Creating Her Own Clothing Line!

| Filed under: Fashion SmashionMelissa McCarthy

Melissa McCarthy promises sleeves for everyone.

Melissa McCarthy is flying so high right now!

The actress' latest movie Spy is doing well in theaters and in critical reviews, and her clothing line, Seven7, is coming along nicely!

Melissa now has more details to share!

For one thing, she's super committed to the endeavor and has even tried on every outfit:

"I've worn every single piece. There are little jeans that are super stretchy and they come all the way up, because I just do not need to see anyone's muffin top, and I do not need to see anyone bend over and be able to tell what color underwear they're wearing anymore."

We honestly don't recall ever hearing a celebrity clothing designer say they've worn every piece themselves.

Go, Melissa!

The actress is also very serious about sleeves and pockets:

"Yes, there are lots of sleeves here! Hallelujah! Do you know how many fights I've had about sleeves? I was actually told once [by a manufacturer she's not working with now], ‘Plus-size women do not want sleeves, in any capacity.' I was like, ‘Are you crazy? That's not accurate! I am plus-size, and I want them, I have friends who are size 26 and size 8 and they want a sleeve! Very few things [in Seven7] don't have sleeves. My stuff has sleeves, my stuff has pockets, you can count on that."

Then she claims she's being selfish with this line, although we don't buy it:

"I started this line because I wanted to know: Where are the normal clothes? This really is a selfish venture. I wanted to build a better closet for myself."

That doesn't sound selfish! At least she's not doing it solely for money like some other celebs.

She's going to end up helping so many people who want cute clothes that actually fit!

The collection will be available in stores and on melissamccarthy.com in August.

'Spy' takes the top spot in the box office this weekend!

Melissa McCarthy has just been KILLING IT lately!

The funny female looked FAB as she flaunted a trimmer figure at the various premieres for her new movie, Spy, and now the movie itself is stealing the show!

And by "show", we mean the top spot in this weekend's box office!

The spy spoof raked in $30 million this weekend, besting the third installment in the scary series Insidious, which only managed $23 million.

But, the victory was hard-fought for the Paul Feig flick, since Insidious 3 was actually slightly ahead of the funny film for the first half of the weekend. After Saturday, however, Spy was able to make an impressive improvement and leap into the lead.

The movie also trumped the second weekend for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's disaster flick San Andreas, which had dropped over 50 percent from its opening weekend, earning $26.4 million.

We can't say we're surprised Spy was such a success, since the HIGHlarious Melissa is so enjoyable to watch, and with Bridesmaids co-star Rose Byrne by her side, another silly smash seemed inevitable!

Umm…what?! How could anyone pass up Melissa?!

Amy explained:

"To get Melissa, I had to fight. They weren't sure. It wasn't that people didn't like her, but she was a different energy. She was a different kind of chick," she said. "And the part was just written for a woman, There was no body type, there was nothing specific about it. I was like, 'I need someone funny who could really act.'"

Hmm, a "different kind of chick?" We're not exactly sure what that means…but okay!
So, how did the writer convince casting to snag McCarthy?
