Yes, Michael Buble has hit the 5th week in a row at number one with his Christmas album, which is awesome and he totally deserves it.
The more interesting question is this, though: how long after the holiday has passed will the holiday album reign supreme??
With sales that were up 4% and selling 467,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan, we're getting the feeling it might have at least one more in it!
The crazy thing is this — Adele's 21 is at #2, and is expected to be the one to replace Buble. 21 had its best week of sales even though it debuted 44 weeks ago and has had 14 weeks of being #1 already under its belt! WOW!
It really is looking like Adele will have the highest selling album of the year, with Buble in second. We'll see next week!
The Canadian crooner's Christmas album is expected to hold onto the number one spot on the Billboard 200 charts for the fifth consecutive week, which ends at the close of business on December 25, with industry sources projecting that the will sell between 400,000 and 450,000 copies!
Maybe they should change the name from BILLBOARD to BUBLEBOARD! Ha!
Yet again, Michael Buble'sChristmas was #1 on the Billboard Albums chart, after his Xmas album sold nearly 448,000 copies over the past week! Can U say "double-platinum????"
Another likely candidate for a stocking stuffer this year is Adele, whose album 21 was #2 on the chart and sold another 277,000 copies after 91,223 43 weeks in release!
In other holiday album news, Justin Bieber'sUnder the Mistletoe landed the #3 spot with 171,000 copies sold! Not bad at all!
Should be interesting to see if holiday spirit persists and Buble pulls off one more week at #1 on the charts! Good luck!
Have U picked up a copy of Michael Buble's Christmas? Which holiday albums have U been listening to this year???
Jimmy Fallon's star studded return to SNL got a 5.3 rating, making it the highest rated episode this season.
Jimmy returned with SNL alums Tracey Morgan, Chris Kattan, Rachel Dratch, Horatio Sanz, and was capped with a Weekend Update with Amy Poehler and Tina Fey.
It was the highest rated episode since JT and Gaga last May.
This is actually really exciting! It's been so long since he was last there!
Check out the promo for this week's episode of Saturday Night Live, which features guest host - and alumni - Jimmy Fallon, alongside musical guest Michael Buble (above)!
Michael Buble'sChristmas debuted seven weeks ago, and it's been atop of the charts for four weeks now with an anticipation of 500,000 sold by December 18.
This makes Buble's jingle jamz the fourth best selling album of the year, right behind Adele, Lady GaGa, and Lil Wayne.
Wow! Who knew classics sung with a classic voice could do so well! Oh, wait, everyone! LOL!! Buble's old school vocal chords are makin' bank!
At least, we think it is! Almost positive, actually!
Angelina Jolie was at the Berlin International Film Festival today, where she is screening her directorial debut, In The Land Of Blood and Honey out of competition, when she announced that the long-rumored project was next up for her - even though she didn't specifically call it by name!
She explains:
"I haven't acted in two years, and I haven't done anything else since this . The next thing I am looking at is a Disney movie. The best thing to find that balance is to do something that is just for children. You know, you find different ways to make things matter. When, for example, you do fun action movies, they are empowering for my daughters."
And since we've gotten word that the Luc Besson movie she had been eyeing seems to have stalled, and Maleficent recently got Robert Stromberg as a director, we think it's safe to say that the Linda Woolverton-written adaptation of the classic fairy tale is definitely where we'll see her next!
