In what may go down in history as the most British news of all time, Kate Middleton is coming to Downton Abbey!
No, she isn't going to guest star — although "the Duchess of Cambridge" does sound like a great foil to the Dowager Countess, now that we think of it.
According to a statement released by the palace on Thursday, the real-life Princess will be visiting Ealing Studios where the hit show is filmed "to celebrate the success of the award-winning production."

The Duchess of Cambridge made an appearance at Stoke-on-Trent (don't English towns have the weirdest names?) in England on Wednesday to visit the Emma Bridgewater pottery factory.
There, she toured the factory and got a look at the charity mug she had a part in designing for the East Anglia Children's Hospices.
It has a very pretty ladybird and floral design!
Children's mental health should be every parent's number one priority.
As a mother herself, Kate Middleton totally understands how important it is for all kids to have a healthy childhood!
A healthy childhood means less of a chance for a youngster to grow up with mental health disorders such as anxiety and depression.
The Duchess of Cambridge teamed up with Place2Be, a charity who's mission is to help make a difference in school for children, for this powerful PSA in honor of the UK's first Children's Mental Health Week.
There's some sort of stigma that comes with these mental health disorders and the Duchess is urging parents to put their fears away and simply ask for help.

Everyone's favorite Brit made a private visit to the Bethlem and Maudsley Hospital School in Beckenham, Kent on Monday.
The school Kate was visiting helps children who suffer mental health problems, and Kate spent most of her hour-and-a-half there talking with children and staff!
Kate's visit was arranged through Place2Be, a nonprofit that provides mental health services to kids in school!
SRSLY! This lady is the best around!
Let it be known that Kate always knows what to wear to make her baby bump look fabulous!
