The Inevitable Has Happened! Mickey Rourke Re-Asses Praise For Megan Fox's Acting Ability!

mickey-rourke-says-his-own-movie-was-terrible

Well, so much for that!

The world was pretty collectively floored when last year, Mickey Rourke praised his co-star in the apparently very terrible (and direct-to-DVD) Passion Play, Megan Fox, as one of the best actresses of our time, but now that the flick is pretty much sinking without a trace, the eccentric actor has HIGHlariously changed his tune!

If you recall, he was quoted as saying:

"I don’t know if a lot of her films have showcased her acting ability more than, say, being action-oriented, but she really stepped up the plate with this one and was very consistent and professional, beyond her years. At 23, I couldn’t do half of what she’s doing."

Well, this was NOT the case last night, when he was interviewed outside a screening of Scream 4.

Here are the HIGHlights:

What about your movie with Megan Fox and Bill Murray?

Terrible. Another terrible movie. But, you know, in your career and all the movies you make, you’re going to make dozens of terrible ones.

You called Megan Fox, like, one of the best actresses of all time.

That I worked with [smirk].

That movie’s getting limited release.

That’s because it’s not very good.

LOLz! Oh, man! This is pretty amazing, we're not going to lie!

But on the upside, Foxy, Mickey's had a lot of female co-stars in a lot of movies, so we guess there's still a compliment somewhere in there!

And hey!

There will probably be a Transformers 4 at some point, so maybe if you're on your best behavior, they'll let you come back for that!

Just saying!

Trailer For Megan Fox's Passion Play

Check out the video above to see the trailer for the indie movie Passion Play, starring Megan Fox, Mickey Rourke, and Bill Murray!

This movie was pretty much dissed across the board last year at the 2010 Toronto Film Fest, but it looks inneresting enough to give a watch!

It also made Mickey Rourke claim that Megan Fox was one the best upcoming actresses, so we'd like to see if that's actually true (we're skeptical, sadly).

Here's a bit of what it's about:

Megan Fox as a winged circus curiosity, Mickey Rourke as the washed-up trumpet player who falls for her, and Bill Murray as a gangster named Happy.

Cool enough premise, but the trailer doesn't exactly do it for us in terms of getting the excitement going.

How about U guys? Do U want to see this movie??

Megan Fox's Latest Going Directly To DVD.

megan-fox-movie-passion-play-straight-to-dvd

Ouch! Another nail in the coffin that has become her career!

After the much-hyped but critically eviscerated Megan Fox/Mickey Rourke romance Passion Play debuted at the Toronto Film Festival last year, nobody heard too much about it - which we know now is because instead of going to theaters, it will be released straight to DVD on May 24th!

We bet someone's wishing that she had stuck around for Transformers: Dark of the Moon pretty badly right now!

Better luck on the next one, gurl!

Thoughts??

First Look At Captain America: The First Avenger Villain Red Skull!

first look at captain america bad guy red skull

WAY scarier than Mickey Rourke in Iron Man 2!

Check out the photo (above) of The Matrix's Agent Smith Hugo Weaving as bad guy Red Skull in the upcoming film Captain America: The First Avenger.

Pret-ty scary looking villain! We wouldn't want to mess with him. Major props to Captain America for taking this guy on!

What do U think of Red Skull? Do U think he'll make a good villain?

Kellan Lutz Is The Hottest Greek God EVER

kellan lutz as poseidon

Make sure your eyes are wearing AT LEAST spf 35 before you check out the photo (above) because Kellan Lutz is BURNING HAWT as Poseidon in his upcoming movie The Immortals!

We were always quite fond of him as Emmett Cullen in the Twilight films, but he is seriously making the God of the Sea look GOOD!

Kellan will star alongside new Superman Henry Cavill, who plays Theseus, a peasant who gets tricked into teaming up with fellow Greek gods "to take up arms against a mad king named Hyperion (Mickey Rourke)."

Slumdog Millionaire's Freida Pinto also stars in the film as "an oracle cursed with the power to see possible futures - as long as she remains a virgin."

Probs in her best interest to stay away from Kellan if she wants to keep her "curse"…who could say no to THAT? Ha!

Are U excited to see more of Kellan Lutz as a hawt, shirtless Greek Sea-God in The Immortals?

Poor Robert Redford!

robert redford says he never gets asked to be in movies

Come on, Hollywood! Show Robert Redford a little more respect! He is a knight, after all…

While at Sundance, Redford spoke up about how he never gets asked to be in movies anymore.

Here's what he had to say about it:

"I ask the question — I say, 'Hey I'd like to be [in that movie]' and they say, 'Would you? You're kidding.' And I say 'No.'"

"Something is happening over the years that makes a lot of people think that I don't do this anymore, when the truth is, it's what I enjoy most."

At least it seems like he's finding SOME work. Here are a couple of roles he's got on the horizon:

- A major role in a Jackie Robinson bio-pic
- A starring role in an adaptation of Bill Bryson's A Walk in the Woods

We're totally on board for a comeback of SIR Robert Redford!

If Mickey Rourke can do it…

Would U like to see Robert Redford become a big-screen presence once again?

Mickey Rourke's Going Gay

mickey-rourke-gareth-thomas-rugby.jpg

Or at least, he wants to in a film about Gareth Thomas.

Some of you might not be familiar with the name, but Gareth is considered the first openly gay professional athlete. In previous interviews, Mickey Rourke has expressed his desire to portray the Welsh rugby player, but in a more recent sit down, he expressed in great detail what he would like see come of Gareth Thomas centric movie. Here's just an excerpt from his interview:

Is it true you're about to play a gay rugby player?

Rourke: You're not supposed to say that, okay? Here's the deal. When I met the rugby player, Gareth Thomas, this is one thing that he and I talked about. This is something that's really important. We're doing a movie about a man who plays rugby who is gay…

Abso-f***ing-lutely. I read the story. it's one of the toughest, hardest sports in the world to play. They play with no pads. They play… it's a really brutal sport. To be a man who plays rugby who is gay and to live with that secret for the amount of years that Gareth had, to perform at the high level that he performed at, it takes a lot of courage.

No plans have been set to put the movie in motion, but with that kind of enthusiasm from an actor, what studio wouldn't want to snag the story up! We know plenty of people who would show up in DROVES to see this. Sounds like a truly inspiring tale.

And bravo to Mickey for continuing his crusade to get the flick made! Here's hoping, bb.
