Mika's Sister In Critical But Stable Condition After 50 Foot Fall

mika sister in critical condition after 50 foot fall

This is truly terrible news. It's like something out of a nightmare!

Singer Mika's sister, Paloma Penniman, was reportedly sitting on her ledge three floors from the ground when she lost balance, fell, and was impaled with a railing spike, which entered her abdomen.

Here's what a close family friend had to say about it:

"To say he's traumatised by this doesn't even come close."

More from the friend:

"It's the stuff of nightmares. Paloma had surgery today on her abdomen and legs - but she is critically ill."

More:

"No one really knows what happened. One minute Paloma was sitting on the window-ledge, the next she had fallen on to the railings."

Here's what a Met spokesman had to say about the incident:

"Police were called to an address at 5.15 this morning, after reports a woman was impaled on railings after falling from a window."

More from a spokesman for Mika:

"Paloma had a serious accident. She is in a critical but stable state. The family have asked for privacy at this time."

We're glad to hear that she's stable. Our thoughts are with Paloma, Mika, and their family at this time.

Quote Of The Day

“I’m not a socialite. My private life belongs to me only. Add to that the fact that I’m really shy. During an Oscar after-party, I made a poor figure with Madonna. I was sitting at the same table with her and Christian Louboutin, but I was too shy to say even one word.
I wonder what she might have thought about me.”

- Mika, on Madonna, to Italian magazine Sorrisi

Seems Mika not only makes great music, but he also helps create happy relationships.

Two of Mika's fans happened to meet on his website forum and are now getting married.

And Mika might even make a special appearance!

According to a source:

"The chap proposed at Mika's gig in Munich. Mika's agreed to come to the wedding, work permitting."

So sweet! Maybe he'll even sing a song or two.

Simon's Charity Single In the Works!

And it's looking quite promising!

Simon Cowell and The Sun are working on a charity single to benefit Haiti relief and the stars are coming out of the woodwork.

Miley Cyrus, Mariah Carey and Jon Bon Jovi just signed on to cover the greatly anticipated cover of R.E.M.'s Everybody Hurts joining the already announced Susan Boyle, Leona Lewis and Rod Stewart.

"It's amazing these great singers are clearing their schedules to make this happen," said Simon. "I just found out Mariah has changed her schedule to be able to do this too."

The recording began this weekend with Cheryl Cole and British band JLS, but others expected to get into the studio are Take That, Michael Bublé, Westlife, Alexandra Burke, James Morrison, Mika and James Blunt.

"It says such a lot that everyone is working so hard to help Haiti," he continued. "This is something that really matters to us all, and I'm so grateful for the support we are getting."

Can't wait to hear it!
