Pick up a weight! Women, need not be afraid of resistance training – “bulking up” is a myth. Lifting weights will make you look more tone, lead to a decrease in body fat, and boost your metabolism. Plus the lean muscle you develop will burn extra calories 24/7. For best results, use a weight that challenges you, so that you are only able to complete between 8-15 repetitions per set.

Hey FitPerezcious readers — we've got one of you that was given the short straw when it came to booty, and wants to make her butt pop!

Good news is, she isn't out of luck! Here's her question:

I have the flattest butt and I want to get a butt like CoCo or Nicki Minaj.

Any butt exercises?

Luckily we have trainer Mike Donavanik to field the question!

Here's his response:

The good news: there are a number of butt exercises that you can do to get a shapelier behind! The bad news: getting a butt like CoCo or Nicki Minaj is all genetics – some have it, some don’t.

While that may not be the exact answer you want to hear, I want to be completely honest with you. Think of it this way: Lauren Conrad will never have a butt like Coco, and CoCo will never have a butt like Lauren Conrad. They have completely different body types and genetics – embrace and work with what you got!

Now, there are a lot of butt shaping exercises you can do. The best are going to be squats, deadlifts, lunges, bridges and all of their variations; along with walking or running on an incline. To see really see change in your glutes, be diligent about getting your butt and leg exercises in 2-3 times per week!

Thanks, Mike! Appreciate it!

Go get that booty you want, guys!

And if U have a question you'd like answered, write Tips@FitPerez.com or tweet @MikeDonavanik! We'd love to hear from you!

The FITT Principle is a great way to overcome plateaus and change up your workout routines. FITT stands for Frequency / Intensity / Time / Type. Frequency: how often you exercise. Intensity: how hard you work during exercise. Time: the length of time you exercise. Type: the type of exercise you do. To continue to make progress, change up your routine by modifying two of these factors every 2-4 weeks.
