This is so sad!!
A driver named Jason Leffler from NASCAR was killed in an accident Wednesday night after a heated race in a dirt car event in New Jersey.
He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. He was 37 years old.
Here's what NASCAR said in a statement:
"NASCAR extends its thoughts, prayers and deepest sympathies to the family of Jason Leffler who passed away earlier this evening. For more than a decade, Jason was a fierce competitor in our sport and he will be missed."
What's even more heartbreaking is Mr. Leffier leaves behind a 5-year-old son named Charlie Dean.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Leffier's family during this tremendously difficult time.

If you're thinking we mean that Danica Patrick was distracted by issues with her boyfriend which resulted in her crashing during the Coca-Cola 600… well, you're wrong! He was LITERALLY the cause of her dangerous collision!
You see, her boyfriend is driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr.! During lap 319, he bumped into her No. 10 Chevy and straight sent her into the back of Brad Keselowski's car! She and Brad sustained significant damage and had to take their cars behind the wall for repairs!
To Indy or to stock car? That is the question!
Danica Patrick WANTED to try and do the 'double' this year, which would have been both the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600, but that didn't happen. In fact, she decide that she needed to keep to her stock car career instead of trying to split her time between the two types of races. She is a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series rookie, after all!

Dick Trickle was a legend in the NASCAR community, and he was recently found dead a cemetery from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. While he DID leave a note, the contents have not made public — so there's no way of knowing why he did what he did.

This is just awful news for the world, especially for the NASCAR community who knew him well.
Legendary driver Dick Trickle, who even used to smoke cigarettes while racing because he was so good, has passed away due to an apparent suicide. He DID leave a note at the scene of his death.
Sources say that Dick had been sick for a while and depressed. Authorities in North Carolina say he shot himself at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincoln County — and they even received a call before his death saying they would find his dead body there. He was found next to his pickup.
We have word that his body has been removed from the scene and taken to a nearby hospital.
Such a sad day for racing, and our hearts go out to his friends and family.

Divorcing someone is never easy.
But it when it's dragged out for months or even years - it can get downright ugly!
Danica Patrick was able to avoid that kind of headache, and her divorce from Paul Hospenthal finalized on April 17th - only three months since they originally filed for divorce in January!
The former married couple also had "participated in the mediation process in order to arrive at a fair and equitable settlement."
So nice!
Since her divorce announcement, Danica has gone public with her romance with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. - talk about landing on one's feet!
