At least someone is sticking up for Zayn Malik!
So, when news broke that Zayn had decided to leave the band, Nick Jonas knew exactly what he must have been going through.
In a recent interview, Nick spoke on behalf of the ex-1D member, saying:
Guess people just didn't believe the whole "I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight" statement.
There's also speculation of the 22-year-old singer leaving the band to repair his relationship with fiancée Perrie Edwards. Others theorized the Little Mix singer forced him to quit, while even more blamed management for being hard on the band.
Well, Radar Online is reporting that it's none of those reasons!
Apparently, an insider revealed to the website that Zaynie has a HUGE drug and alcohol problem and management gave him an ultimatum — either get sober or leave the band.
The ex-boy band member was spotted heading into a studio in London just a day after he left the group — and people are FUReaking out!
Why would the 22-year-old have a need to hit up the studio after saying he was leaving the band to do normal things?

The timing of it all is just very inneresting.
Since his departure, Rolling Stone released an unpublished interview they had with him in 2012 that suggests he wasn't adjusting to the fame as well as the others.
Here's an excerpt from Zaynie's interview:
THIS ISN'T A JOKE, GUY.
During CBS's news coverage of the singer's departure from the mega-successful boy band, a collection of Vines played featuring 1D fans' emotional response to the band member's exit.
Yes, there were tears on tears. But the last Vine they showed last was of YouTuber Ben Berst, who was quite blatantly making fun of the hysterical and heartbroken Directioners!
In the clip, he pretended to
This on-stage violence has to stop.
Well… it's totally UNTRUE!
Shame on the person who started that rumor and broke all of our hearts into millions and billions of pieces!
Apparently Hazzah was hit in the eye with a glow stick:
Sigh, they say time heals all wounds, but at this rate, we need all the time in the world!
After seeing all the sad and disheartening tweets from fans all around the world, the father of one decided to take to his own Twitter to sooth the heartbreaks.
Simon tweeted out:
This is INSANE!
Fan girls DO run this world!
Directioners have been crying in classrooms; the band's Spotify is racking up a TON of plays; #AlwaysInOurHeartsZaynMalik has been trending worldwide on Twitter; and now fans are offering up all the cash they have to buy the band!
Yeah, you read that correctly!
