We're so glad she has the strength to tell her story!
Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong has lived a tumultuous life, both on screen and off.
Not only has the 43-year-old witnessed domestic abuse growing up as a child, she experienced it with her late husband Russell Armstrong who committed suicide in 2011.
With all of the chaos surrounding her, the reality TV star confessed in an episode of Oprah: Where Are They Now? — airing this Saturday — that she masked the pain with plastic surgery.
The mother of one revealed:
"I spent the early part of my life trying to become someone that I wasn't and I think a lot of it has to do with the shame and the guilt and all of the things I was carrying from my past."
Taylor has accused Russell of grabbing her, shoving her, pulling her hair, and throwing objects at her.
In regards to her cosmetic surgery, she dishes:
"I got new lips and new breasts and changed my hair, changed my name… It was anything I could do to try to become someone else."
The Kansas-native was born Shana Hughes and prior to her marriage to Armstrong, went by Taylor Ford, a combination of her stepfather's last name, Taylor, and the last name of her idol, designer Tom Ford.
While we are appalled by the abuse she had to go through, we applaud Taylor's honesty and we hope it will give others suffering from domestic violence the strength to rise up from their surroundings.

Say it ain't so!
After 22 years as the host of the Late Show — it's time to bid David Letterman farewell!
And it seems we're not the only ones struggling with saying goodbye to the TV host.
And who's surprised?! The comedian has clocked in more than 6,000 broadcasts in 33 years while on television. WHOA!!
Since Dave couldn't have EVERY one of his former guests on during his final week, many were forced to say their goodbyes on social media — including Sia, Oprah Winfrey, Bette Midler, Jimmy Fallon, Betty White, Ellen DeGeneres, Conan O'Brien, Backstreet Boys, Maroon 5, Seth Meyers, Mindy Kaling, Foo Fighters, and Andy Cohen, just to name a few.
Ch-ch-check out their touching goodbyes (below)!
It's been two years since Leah Remini made the decision to leave the Church of Scientology — but it seems the actress is still dealing with the fallout!
The King of Queens star discussed her post-Scientology life for Oprah Winfrey's Where Are They Now? Apparently, the brunette beauty made the tough call about the church for the sake of her daughter, Sofia.
"My mother was in Scientology my whole life. Most people don't know that we were raised in it. I didn't decide to get into it — I was brought into it by my mom."
In addition to being brought into the faith by her mother, Leah dedicated over three decades of her life to the controversial organization.
Too soon to call Lindsay Lohan volunteer of the year?!
On Tuesday, the Parent Trap star began her court mandated community service at the Duffield Children's Center in Brooklyn — and it seems the starlet is having a good time.
The actress took to Instagram to prove that she's happily working away at the pre-school.
Let the countdown begin!
It seems Lindsay Lohan will start working on her remaining (est.) 116 hours of community service this week at the Duffield Children's Center in Brooklyn.
Innnneresting choice with the kid's school — especially considering the starlet's troubled past with alcohol and drugs. But anyway…
Sources report that the starlet is in NYC and will be ready to dive right into work on Tuesday. Better late than never — right?!
As we previously reported, the Parent Trap star must complete her court mandated community service or face serious consequences. Prosecutors have said that they'll seek jail time if the actress is unable to acquire the service hours.
Oh no! We don't think LiLo is prison material! With under three weeks left, the Mean Girls actress will have to clock in some major overtime.
We wonder what mentor, Oprah Winfrey has to say about all of this? Perhaps another docu-series is in order?! This has turned into quite the nail-biter.
What do you think? Will Lindsay beat the clock and finish her community service hours on time?!
Better yet — will she be working directly with the children?! We can't wait to see how this all plays out!
