Neil Patrick Harris and Oscar Isaac both took to social media to mourn Fisher and Reynolds with emotional posts, expressing their admiration for the actresses they had previously worked with.
Isaac, who starred alongside the Star Wars icon in 2015's The Force Awakens, remembered the 60-year-old for her sharp wit in poignant Facebook posts — in which he shared a photo of Fisher and Mark Hamill on set.
The 39-year-old also shared a photo of Fisher's beloved dogGary, writing:
But now, Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs is following through on her plan to include more female faces and diverse members in the mix, by also inviting stars like America Ferrera, Eva Mendes, John Boyega, Regina King, Anthony Anderson, and more.
UPDATE 5:55 P.M. EST: Fox has now apologized for the billboard, saying in a statement:
"In our enthusiasm to show the villainy of the character Apocalypse we didn't immediately recognize the upsetting connotation of this image in print form. Once we realized how insensitive it was, we quickly took steps to remove those materials. We apologize for our actions and would never condone violence against women"
X-Men: Apocalypse, the most recent installment of Fox's superhero franchise, hit theaters last weekend and landed the No. 1 spot — but not everyone is a fan!
That's because Rose McGowan has joined a growing number of people who are NOT happy about the poster showing Oscar Isaac's villainous Apocalypse choking Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique because they believe it depicts "casual violence against women".
With starring roles in the upcoming X-Men and Star Wars films, it's safe to say that Oscar Isaac is a bona fide movie star.
But the 37-year-old actor made it clear he has no interest in being identified as a star of any variety!
In a new interview with Rolling Stone, The Force Awakensstar actor opened up about the passionate fan base he accumulated over the past year after being dubbed by bloggers as "the Internet's boyfriend" — a title that Isaac isn't expecting to last long.
After peeing on herself in her Hunger Games wetsuit, you'd think she'd have learned, but it turns out she's in the same position — which is in the line of fire of her own stream — on X-Men: Apocalypse!
In an interview with BBC Radio 1, she and costar James McAvoy expound on the not-so-halcyon (more amber…) moviemaking moments.
Well the costars are continuing their AH-Mazing quest to become our favorite young stars as Entertainment Tonight released a clip of Boyega beatboxing while Ridley raps about Star Wars!
On top of that, the rap is played over behind-the-scenes footage from the film as the young actors dance and laugh along with Oscar Isaac, Carrie Fisher, J.J. Abrams, and the rest of the cast and crew!

In the past couple of weeks, the O.C. star has made headlines for a series of odd incidents. At the end of January, the actress was hospitalized for a mental evaluation after going on a crazy rant in her backyard. Two days later, she explained that she was drugged with GHB at her birthday party.
This past weekend, the 31-year-old crashed into an apartment building with a U-Haul truck after misjudging the height of the carport.
With all that's going on, one could see a correlation between her substance use and her bizarre behavior. Check out a close up (below)!
