Maybe his buddy President Barack Obama will help him out!

The street artist responsible for the now iconic image of our current president used in his campaign was arrested in Boston over the weekend.

Shepard Fairey was taken into custody on two outstanding warrants, both charging him for tagging property with graffiti. He was released on Saturday on a $1,500 bail, but is due in court this morning for further review.

Our thinking is, how is he suppose to apologize for something that helped make him famous?! We sure as hell wouldn't!

That's some pretty grandiose praise!

Sting firmly believes that President Barack Obama is the best man to deal with the world's problems because he's "genuine, very present, clearly super-smart, and exactly what we need in the world…because of his background, his education, particularly in regard to Islam."

The British singer is very interested in American politics and had some choice words about the conservative side and those against Obama:

"It's aggressive and violent and full of fear. They don't want change, they want things to feel the same because they feel safe there. My hope is that we can start talking about real issues and not caring about whether God cares about your hemline or your color. We are here to evolve as one family, and we can't be separate anymore."

Smart man, that Sting!

Oh, boo hoo!

Rapper 50 Cent revealed that even he has been hit by the recession losing "a few million" from his fortune. He's also had to change some of his spending habits, mainly his penchant for jewelry.

"I buy diamonds on a very regular basis, but now I am selling my old stuff before I get something new. These are times when you learn about the value of money.

If you don't lose money in this recession, it means you didn't have enough to start off with. Sure, I lost a few million, but that's because I have so much. This is a time that will sort out the strong from the weak."

In fact, 50 is so confident in his money-handling abilities he confidently states:

"Any businessman who wants a piece of the future should learn from me. Obama is great. If he wants me as his financial adviser that would be cool."

We seriously doubt the President would have the same reaction.

If someone could just forward this along to Amber Tamblyn so she knows what she's gotten herself into, that would be super.

Arrested Development star David Cross decided to be rather candid about his frequent drug use in a recent interview.

Tamblyn's boyfriend admits to having done something rather stupid, if you ask us. Although, for a coke-fiend, we bet it's a badge of honor.

Cross told a reporter that on a dare (because we're all still in 2nd grade), he snorted a line of coke at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, though it wasn't held at the White House but several officials were still present.

Classy, huh? Oh, and guess who was hanging out a few tables down - President Barack Obama!

David said, “It’s crazy and there’s security, Secret Service is standing there. I’ve got photos of all this. … I’m there and the president is right here and with all these people at the table. Maybe 40 feet from the president of the United States!”

So not only did you snort coke next to the Prez, but you have photos of it?

Well, let's see'em!

If you're dumb enough to take photographic evidence, you might as well finish the job and send them out for the world to see.

This is fantastic news!

The Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Bill was cleared in the Senate today officially making it through the last obstacle in Congress and making a huge stride in the way of LGBT equality!

President Barack Obama has promised to sign it later this month.

YES!

Human rights are for EVERYBODY!

We're making amazing progress slowly but surely and we need to keep it up! Nothing that's worthwhile comes easy!

They had no idea and they are pissed!!!

Famed musicians, such as R.E.M. and Pearl Jam have filed a series of Freedom of Information requests, asking the government to declassify documents that would reveal which artist's catalogs were used in several prisons and military detention centers, including Guantanamo Bay.

The music may have been used in controversial interrogation methods (aka torture) in which detainees are forced to listen music at extreme levels for hours on end.

The requests were filed by Close Gitmo Now, a grassroots organization aimed at pressuring Congress to support President Obama's intentions to close Guantanamo Bay prison. Their allegations are based of the testimony of former prisoner and guards that identified music from artists ranging from Britney Spears to AC/DC to the Sesame Street theme song.

It may sound funny, but "it's very scary to think that you might go crazy because of the music, because of the loud noise," said Ruhal Ahmed, a former detainee who is suing the government for the abuse.

The musicians have not verified whether they would take legal action, but we'd be surprised if they didn't!

"We have spent the past 30 years supporting causes related to peace and justice. To now learn that some of our friends' music may have been used as part of the torture tactics without their consent or knowledge is horrific," said R.E.M in a statement. "It's anti-American, period."

It's a good day to be a stoner, that is if you live in one of the 14 states that allows the wacky tabacky to be prescribed for medical reasons.

On Monday the Obama administration issued new guidelines for arresting those who are both legally selling and buying the drug.

Is this how the Nobel Peace Prize winner is using his new found status, by lighting up a peace pipe???

The new policy tells prosecutors to stop wasting their time going after those in compliance with the state law, specifically those providing or using medical marijuana.

We agree.

They can use their time to go after boys trapped in balloons. That's a much better use of tax payer money.

The 3 page long memo urges the prosecutors in the 14 states allowing medical marijuana and to top officials at the FBI and Drug Enforcement Administration to go after marijuana cases that involve violence, the illegal use of firearms, selling pot to minors, money laundering or involvement in other crimes.

While the DEA and FBI may be upset about the new policy, medical marijuana advocates are excited that the Prez has kept his word on changing the policy.

Bruce Mirken of the Marijuana Policy Project says the change "moves the federal government dramatically toward respecting scientific and practical reality."

Could this be a step to legalize weed???

We're sure policy makers will fight that to the death, but in the meantime roll up a fat one and pass it around!

Tenth cousins once removed that is!

The New England Genealogical Society has revealed that the two Hollywood pals from Boston, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, are descendants of William Knowlton, Jr., a bricklayer from England who settled in the US in the 1630s.

Affleck is also distantly related to President Barack Obama and the late Princess Diana!

Presidential and royal blood? Not too shabby, Ben!
