Hope He's OK

An eyewitness reports exclusively to PerezHilton.com that Project Runway season 4 contestant Rami Kashou was attacked at West Hollywood hotspot The Abbey late Thursday evening.

Rami was supposedly hit in the face with a glass bottle.

Our source says Rami was quite bloodied up and taken away by ambulance to a local hospital.

Scary.

A spokesperson for The Abbey confirmed to us that an 'incident' took place and that "The Abbey's staff is fully cooperating with police as they investigate this matter."

Project Runway: Still Ratings Gold

projrunway.jpg

Even without much promotion and a new time slot, Wednesday night's Project Runway premiere was on par with last season's premiere episode.

2.9 million people tuned in to see the new contestants compete in their first challenge (they brought back the grocery store challenge!).

Looks like Runway is as strong as ever!

This must make the folks at Bravo extra sad/mad that they're losing the show to Lifetime next season.

Getting Even?

prpress.jpg

Is Bravo trying to sabotage Project Runway?

As y'all know, things got ugly earlier this year because Runway's bosses (the infamous Weinstein bros) are moving the popular show from Bravo to Lifetime.

Well, the new season of Runway premieres on Wednesday. But, have you noticed the lack of fanfare and billboard ads announcing the premiere?

We recall LA and NY plastered with Project Runway ads prior to past season premieres!!

E.W. reports that Bravo's GM said the scaled-back publicity this time around "was a matter of maintaining the contestants’ anonymity."

Uh huh! Riiiiight

However, some argue that Bravo could simply have whipped up billboards that feature host Heidi Klum.

Are they trying to bring the show down before the big move?

Smells awfully fishy to us!

Regardless, we're excited about the new season!

Getting Fired Does a Career Good

ninagarciaelle.jpg

As " target="_blank">we mentioned Wednesday, Nina Garcia has landed a new j-o-b at Marie Claire magaizne, and now…

According to a new press release, Nina is still "in" at Elle….until September 1st!

Her title will be "Editor at Large" and she'll continue to rep Elle in Project Runway's final season on Bravo.

An Elle spokesperson said, "Nina is admired by a large television audience on Project Runway who tune in to see Nina and her fellow judges decide who's in and who's out. She's made a real contribution to the program's success as a top show."

Wonder if the Weinstein's had a little talk with them about not rocking the boat.

This title is purely ceremonial.

Well, put on that crown Nina, and enjoy it!

She's Got A New Job!

ninagarcia__opt1.jpg

We can stop the speculating.

Since her acrimonious departure from Elle magazine, Nina Garcia has been on the hunt for a new job.

Where has she landed?

The Project Runway judge will be joining Marie Claire as fashion director in September!

As of now, there's no word about Marie Claire replacing Elle as the official mag/partner of Project Runway.

We knew Nina would land on her feet!

All Coming Together

ninamarieclaire.jpg

The Project Runway drama continues…offscreen!

Fashion Week Daily reports that Nina Garcia is close to being named some big wig title at Marie Claire magazine.

Yay, a job! Good for Nina!

So, Nina's Project Runway panel spot may NOT be up for grabs, should she score the Marie Claire job!!

Remember, we mentioned earlier this week that Marie Claire will probably be Project Runway's magazine partner once it moves to Lifetime.

Also, isn't it a funny coinkydink that Heidi Klum graces the cover of the new Marie Claire?

Funny coinkydink or is it all part of a Weinstein grand plan?!?

The Producers Speak

wenn1651464.jpg

As we mentioned yesterday, the original producers of Project Runway, who have been with the show since season one, will be leaving the show at the end of its Bravo run this upcoming fifth season.

The duo, Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz, are now speaking out about their decision to part with their baby.

Cutforth says, “We didn’t have an issue with Project Runway going to Lifetime per se, and we’d both be surprised if it didn’t work for that network.”

That's sort of putting it nicely.

Cutforth adds, “When we started doing Project Runway five years ago, we weren’t really a production company. We were two producers taking work on a for-hire basis. But Project Runway became a huge part of our company and we are very much known for it. We’ve been trying to grow our business and it doesn’t make much sense to keep on with it — as much as we love Project Runway.”

As for Lipsitz, she says, “Even though technically we didn’t create the show, we created the `creative’ of the show. We gave the show its style and emotional level. It’s not easy to walk away from it, by any means. All big decisions are complicated and you have to make sacrifices. Our emotional side is with Project Runway but our business side has to take over so we can build the company.”

Money always motivates people, though.

As for season five of the show which will debut this June, Cutforth says, “We’re excited about the cast and are always looking for a balance of talent and unforgettable characters,” says Cutforth. “I think one teaser I’ll give is, you’ll never look at tanning beds the same way.”

And will the duo watch the next season of Project Runway?

Cutforth states, "It would be weird, like going to an ex-girlfriend’s wedding. We might go but we won’t be dancing.”

Yea, and they'll be counting down the days until they get divorced!
