Read Quentin Tarantino's Public Apology Letter To Roman Polanski's Rape Victim

Quentin Tarantino is eating his words, and rightfully so.

The Django Unchained director may be proud of the words he's written, but what he said in a 2003 Howard Stern interview he will not defend.

In case you missed it, in the recently unearthed episode he defended Roman Polanski, saying his 13-year-old rape victim "wanted to have it" and that it was statutory but "not rape."

The victim, Samantha Geimer, now 54, has already publicly forgiven the filmmaker, saying she's sure he "realizes now that he was wrong."

He does.

Tarantino reached out to Geimer by phone to apologize personally and released a public apology letter to IndieWire on Thursday as well, writing:

As we previously reported, the former Disney darling confirmed that she is playing the late American actress in The Haunting of Sharon Tate. Not only did the Younger star share a pic of her done up as Sharon, but she also claimed it was "a true honor" to play such "an amazing woman."

Debra Tate had an entirely different take on the situation, as she called it "classless" and "exploitative." She noted

Alongside the pic (above), the blonde industry vet wrote:

"Had the incredible opportunity of playing Sharon Tate the past two weeks in an independent movie. She was an amazing woman and it was a true honor."

The former Disney darling is slated to star in The Haunting of Sharon Tate alongside Mean Girls' Jonathan Bennett and Lydia Hearst.

It's said the film is from Tate's point of view and takes place during her final days. Reportedly, a year before her murder, Sharon revealed she had dreams about ghosts haunting her home and predicted she'd die at the hands of a satanic cult.

We're definitely going to tune in for this take on the Hollywood tragedy!

Quentin Tarantino couldn't feel guiltier about the Kill Bill stunt that almost killed Uma Thurman.

As we previously reported, in her candid New York Times interview, the 47-year-old actress claimed that the celebrated director pressured her into doing a driving stunt, despite having vocalized her qualms with the sequence. Sadly, while filming, the car crashed and caused serious, long-lasting bodily injury to Uma.

Although the blonde A-lister has already defended Tarantino, the filmmaker has since addressed the controversy with Deadline, calling it the "biggest regret of [his] life." He shared:
