The Queen has done it again…
Madonna announced this morning that she and Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis are teaming up on a new grants program that fights for social justice!
The initiative, in coordination with the Art For Freedom project, aims at fueling free speech through artwork, all of which will come from fan submissions! Over the next year, Madge will select one artist EACH MONTH whose work she feels fights oppression, intolerance and complacency!
Oh hellz yes!
Madonna will then award $10,000 to a nonprofit organization, project or charity of the winning artist’s choice!
Madonna got things started with her OWN artistic call to action last month, with her Secretprojectrevolution, a 17-minute video she created with Steven Klein!
Ahhhh… It's all making sense now!
She issued a statement today about her drive to participate in #ArtForFreedom, saying:
What a red hot cluster**k this turned out to be!!!
Red Hot Chili Peppers lead singer Anthony Kiedis tried making his way into Philadelphia's Four Seasons Hotel, but security wasn't having it!!
Apparently rock legends from The Rolling Stones were staying there and the RHCP frontman wanted to pay his respects!!!
Instead, the Californication singer found himself in the middle of a super-scurrry skirmish when security JUMPED him!!!!
Ch-ch-check out the musician's melee for yourself (above)!
Yikes! They basically kicked Anthony's talented a$$ up and down the sidewalk!!
It’s been almost two years since we heard new music from the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
We think it’s time they head back to the studio. Lucky for us, so do they!!
Drummer Chad Smith revealed that plans of starting on some new choons are in the works:
“I’d take Bieber to the woodshed and spank him. His manager Scooter Braun is scared sh-tless. I don’t know what Bieber’s problem is. His career is over in three years anyway.”
- Peter Mensch, manager of Metallica and Red Hot Chili Peppers, on Justin Bieber's bad behavior, to The Sun.
