Ricky Gervais and David Bowie were really good friends even until the rockstar's untimely end.
But as close as they were, the funnyman is now admitting he was totally caught off-guard to learn the late legend had passed away.

The comedian told BBC's Radio 5 Live that he had no idea the rocker was sick, explaining that they had talked two weeks before the musician lost his battle with cancer:
"[His death] was a total surprise. I was emailing him two weeks before, so he must have known. He kept it from everyone."
In the year leading up to his death, the artist had discussed his diagnosis with very few people, including his producer and band members.
The Office alum applauded the star's decision to keep his sickness a secret, adding:
Before Steve Carell took the U.S. by storm portraying Michael Scott in the hit sitcom The Office, Ricky Gervais was the ORIGINAL awkwardly ignorant boss on the U.K. version of the show.
While the series went off the air over a decade ago, Gervais did show up as his character, David Brent, from the original series on the U.S. version.

Now Ricky has brought the character back for one more awkward road trip with a solo film titled David Brent: Life on the Road!

Jennifer Garner is speaking out for the first time since her highly-publicized split from Ben Affleck after 10 years of marriage in her cover story for next month's Vanity Fair.
As you know, the pair announced their decision to divorce last June and shortly after reports went rampant that Affleck had an affair with the beloved couple's kids' nanny Christine Ouzounian.
Now, Garner is ready to talk — and she's saying the 28-year-old employee had nothing to do with the divorce.
