NASCAR Legend Dick Trickle Has Committed Suicide

dick trickle nascar suicide dead rip sad driver legend

This is just awful news for the world, especially for the NASCAR community who knew him well.

Legendary driver Dick Trickle, who even used to smoke cigarettes while racing because he was so good, has passed away due to an apparent suicide. He DID leave a note at the scene of his death.

Sources say that Dick had been sick for a while and depressed. Authorities in North Carolina say he shot himself at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincoln County — and they even received a call before his death saying they would find his dead body there. He was found next to his pickup.

We have word that his body has been removed from the scene and taken to a nearby hospital.

Such a sad day for racing, and our hearts go out to his friends and family.

Amy Winehouse Statue Will NOT Be 'Cheesy!'

amy winehouse statue not garish

PHEW.

When we heard back in 2012 that Mitch Winehouse — the father of Amy Winehouse — wanted to honor his daughter's memory in sculpture form, we were scared the resulting creation would be a big, bronzed MESS…

BUT yay! We can breathe a sigh of relief because the artist who has been tasked with recreating the iconic singer's likeness has promised that the piece will NOT be garish or silly.

Olympic Sailor Andrew Simpson Drowns In Capsized Boat

andrew simpson olympic sailor died drown capsized boat sad rip

Such a sad piece of news we have to share with you all.

The Olympic sailor Andrew Simpson has died, drowning after his America's Cup boat capsized.

He won an Olympic gold medal in sailing in 2008 and a silver at last year's games. This year he absolutely jumped at the chance to win yachting's top prize – the America's Cup.

He drowned when the high-tech catamaran capsized and trapped him under water for more than 10 minutes — and it was only a practice run. Sadly, he has a wife and an infant child.

We offer our condolences, and hope that his friends and family can get through this! Our hearts go out to you all!

Missoni Founder Ottavio Missoni Passes Away At 92 Years Old

| Filed under: Fashion SmashionR.I.P.Sad SadMissoni

Ottavio Missoni, founder of the Missoni fashion house, has passed away at 92 years old

This is heart-breaking.

Ottavio Missoni, the patriarch and founder of the Missoni fashion house, passed away in his home in Sumirago, Italy on Thursday at 92 years of age.

He leaves behind his wife Rosita Missoni, as well as his children, Angela Missoni, who is the head designer of the house, Luca Missoni, the creative director, and several grandchildren.

His eldest son Vittorio Missoni, who went missing with his wife and companions during a flight to Venezuela back in January of this year, is still unaccounted for.

Ottavio began the family business in 1953, creating knitwear collections for various boutiques and stores in Italy, before launching the famous zigzag motif in 1962 and finally opening the first Missoni store in 1967.

Business has been booming ever since, with the latest Missoni for Target collaboration flying off shelves and causing the Target website to crash due to enormous demand.

Nonetheless, it's been a really tough year for the family, and they are in our thoughts during this truly difficult time.
