Wow — Rob Thomas got into some hot water Down Under.
The Matchbox Twenty frontman was performing on his solo tour this weekend when he had a performance in Melbourne that got noticed for all the wrong reasons.
During a lag in the performance, Thomas told the crowd a story about how he had figured out how to combat jet lag flying over from the U.S. and told what turned out to be a very off-color joke in the process, saying:
That's some scary stuff!
Rob Thomas' wife Marisol Maldonado recently underwent brain surgery, but the Matchbox Twenty frontman says she's doing well after the procedure:
"She's good. She's at home recovering, so we're hoping for the best."
Last Friday, the singer's spouse had an operation to remove a lesion from the base of her brain. Yikes!
We're so relieved that everything seemed to go off without a hitch, and Rob remains cautiously optimistic about his wife's condition, explaining:
"We don't know what's gonna happen. We're just glad the surgery went well. She has great doctors; she has a bunch of people supporting her."
Back in July, the musician took to Facebook to share the troubling news about the wound in Marisol's crucial organ, and also announced that he was going to cancel some tour dates so he could stay by her side. He wrote:
This self destructive love story between a claymation gasoline tank and a carton of matches has simply set our country souls a' blaze!
The duo has joined forces for an amaze song, Gasoline And Matches–and the video is super adorbz, to boot!
It features a fiery story line , and even a killer guitar solo by famed strummer, Jeff Beck!
Ch-ch-check out the cute tale between Myrtle Matches and Gus Gasoline (above!)
Your hearts may just melt from the heat between these two lovers!
Goo Goo Dolls frontman Johnny Rzeznik is looking better than ever!!
The three piece band is Buffalo, New York's biggest export behind chicken wings and postcards from Niagara Falls, and their big hits like Iris and Slide are still radio staples today.
Ch-ch-check out their EXCLUSIVE! interview (above) to hear them explain how they've rocked so hard and stayed so popular!!
Also, they talk touring with Rob Thomas and Matchbox 20! Yay!
Thanks for stopping by, guys!!
Like 'em or hate 'em, there's no arguing that listening to Matchbox Twenty is way better than contracting syphilis!
The band is soooo close to releasing North, their first album in over a decade, that we can literally smell it!
It kind of smells like grape jelly!
The album's first single is She's So Mean. Ch-Ch-Check out the official video (above) — it's downright pop-tastic!!
Baby-faced Rob Thomas hasn't aged a day since the late '90s! We genuinely can't believe it's been so long since these guys were relevant!
Their new song isn't the most memorable track ever written but Rob's voice is so smooth he could sing us the first sixty pages of the Cleveland telephone directory and we'd still have multiple ear-orgasms!
