American Idol Is THIS Close To Locking In Their Stars As Mötley Crüe's Nikki Sixx Is Eyed For A Seat At The Judges' Table!

American Idol is so close to locking in its host and remaining judges.

As we previously reported, Ryan Seacrest has faced some hurdles while negotiating his contract for his return as host for the singing competition. While the Live! host agreed to be paid somewhere between $10 and 15 million for the gig, it's said he and the producers are clashing over his desire to be named an executive producer.

Apparently, the producers are unwilling to grant him this title as they rejected Katy Perry (who is being paid $25 million to be a judge on the show)'s request to be made an executive producer — and they don't want to ruffle any feathers. Still, Seacrest is likely to return to Idol as he reportedly met with ABC executives this week.

And while there are no updates about whether or not Lionel Richie has been locked in as a judge for the former FOX hit, it's believed the music legend is eyeing a contract somewhere in the range of $3 to $5 million. But what about that last spot at the judges' table??

Well, according to TMZ, both the Idol producers and the higher ups at ABC want Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue to be a judge. Why?? Because Mr. Sixx is supposedly willing to make less than Richie. Well, well!

Hopefully, Idol finishes up these contracts sooner than later or it'll just be Miz Perry running the show. Actually, we'd totally watch that show!

Hello… it is me you're looking for…

Lionel Richie seems to be the man of the hour for the folks over at American Idol: a new report out this morning alleges that he may in fact be the top pick for a judge spot on the show, to go alongside Katy Perry and an as-yet-unnamed third judge!

Really, though?!?!

Nothing against Richie — he's just… past his prime a bit?! Perry is a younger star, Ryan Seacrest obviously has that whole hosting thing down pat considering the original version of the show is where he got his start, but Lionel Richie?!?!?!?

It seems so… random???

But according to the report, it may not be random — and here's why:

Ryan Seacrest's American Idol Contract Negotiations Hit A Snag Over THIS Little Request!

| Filed under: TV NewsLegal MattersAmerican IdolRyan SeacrestKaty PerryBusiness BlitzReality TV

Ryan hasn't signed his 'Idol' contract

Ryan Seacrest's contract for the American Idol reboot isn't a done deal yet!

As we previously reported, the TV personality has been offered somewhere between $10 and $15 million to once again host the celebrated singing competition. While new judge Katy Perry is making significantly more than the 42-year-old, *cough*$25 million*cough*, the industry vet isn't upset about his paycheck.

Reportedly, negotiations for Ryan's contract have reached a standstill over the fact that Seacrest wants an executive producer credit in addition to his host title. It's said Fremantle Media and Core Media are hesitant to hand over that title to Ryan and have been stuck in a stalemate over the issue for the last week. Yikes!

So far, it's unclear if Seacrest is trying to snag more day-to-day responsibilities. Although, we doubt that's the case as Ryan is already spread pretty thin thanks to his Live! gig, radio show, production company, etc.

Nonetheless, as the producers are still scrambling to lock in another judge (potentially Lionel Richie), we're sure they'll cave and give Ryan what he's asking for. We mean, it's hard to imagine Idol WITHOUT Seacrest!
