Sara Rue Slips Into Bikini For First Time Ever

Ahhhh! We’re excited!

A year and a half ago, Shedding for the Wedding host Sara Rue started the Jenny Craig diet. 50 pounds and four dress sizes later, she’s posing in a bikini for the first time in her entire life!

Said Sara:

"It's a little strange. But after I tried it on, I thought, 'I look good!'"

Sara has been on a 1,700-calorie-a-day diet and does cardio four days a week to lose weight.

"It's hard. It's a struggle. There are days where I'll say, 'I feel off the rails.' But I don't give myself excuses."

While she’s following the Jenny Craig diet, Sara has a few tricks up her sleeve to give her an edge:

"I try not to eat animal protein after 7:30 p.m. And when I make pasta, I layer the bottom of the bowl with fresh spinach. That way you're having the pasta, but with half the carbs."

Congrats, Sara! You look amazing!

Sara Rue Doesn’t Envy Brides On A Diet

Sara Rue is now famous for losing 50 pounds as the spokesperson for Jenny Craig, but she says she’s thankful that she isn’t on the show Shedding for the Wedding, where brides try to shed weight before their big day.

Said Rue:

“It’s nice to not have that be a stressful thing. Planning a wedding can be stressful enough, and I’m glad I don’t have that to worry about.”

She continued:

“I do my maintenance by exercising and watching what I eat, but of course I may want to lose a little bit more just so I look and feel great in my wedding dress. On my honeymoon, I want to be able to flounce around in tiny shorts and a bikini top.That would be ideal.”

We agree, but we still applaud the women on the show for doing their best to lose weight! It’s hard but it will be worth it!

Sara Rue Runs Half Marathon

Sara Rue, Jenny Craig spokesperson, is making giant strides in fitness and health. She recently lost 50 lbs. on the Jenny Craig program and ran a half marathon over the weekend.

Said Rue:

“I feel so happy! It’s awesome! Now I understand what people have been saying about having a runner’s high. I’m in the best shape of my life. Less than seven, eight months ago I couldn’t even run a mile. This has been really empowering.”

Sara ran with her personal trainer, Christopher Lane.

“When the race started we were being passed by hundreds of people. I was a little discouraged and I tried to joke with Christopher by saying ‘hey, I don’t think we’re going to win this thing!’ Once we settled into our pace, I just started enjoying the run. “

“I didn’t think I’d enjoy [the run] as much as I did. It was empowering and fun – fun!” added Sara.

Going from being overweight to running half marathons in such a short time is amazing! Keep being an inspiration, bb!
