Sometimes it just doesn't work!

Sarah Silverman has revealed she will always love ex-boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel, but it was unfortunately not enough to save their seven year relationship!

The funny lady says:

"I think Jimmy and I had every intention of spending the rest of our lives with each other. I love love. It's my top priority. Jimmy will tell you. I'm a good girl. We were together for so long and tried our best to make it work. I can think of him now and don't have that edgy feeling anymore. I just love him to pieces. Sometimes loving each other isn't enough. You have to be responsible for your own happiness. You can't stay in a relationship because you're afraid of the unknown. But I will always love him. Sometimes I think maybe we'll die together in our old age or something."

That's so sweet! AND mature!

Not everyone can let go of their ex like that and still look back fondly!!

Honestly, what did they expect? You don't invite Sarah Silverman unless you're ready for a little un-PC humor!!

The comedienne performed at TED, a conference on technology, education and design, and she had a couple of choice comments for Sarah Palin's crusade against using the word 'retarded' - which mainly involved her using the word as many times as possible.

"The only problem with adopting a retarded child is that the retarded child, when you are 80 is well, still retarded and that she wouldn't enjoy the freedoms of setting them free at age 18, so she was only going to adopt a retarded child with a terminal illness so it has an expiration date, because who would adopt a retarded child with a terminal illness? Well, someone who was awesome like her."

Eek! Silverman also sang a song about penises, which then prompted TED organizer Chris Anderson to passively aggressively insult Silverman in 140 characters or less on Twitter!

I know I shouldn't say this about one of my own speakers, but Sarah Silverman was god-awful…

Silverman was having none of that and responded with a whole lot more spine AND a whole lot more HIGHlarity.

Kudos to @TEDChris for making TED an unsafe haven for all! You're a barnacle of mediocrity on Bill Gates' asshole.

OUCH! LOL!

It appears Silverman was just getting started, though. Co-founder of AOL Steve Case started up a Twitter war of his own with Silverman when he commented that she was an inappropriate choice for the conference. She responded with this HIGHlarious gem.

Team Sarah on this one - if they thought she was going to not push boundaries, they were STOOPID to invite her. Either stand behind your decision or keep your mouth shut, don't throw her under the bus!!

Our bad!!! We didn't mean to perpetuate falsities!!

We recently quoted the lovely and HIGHlarious Sarah Silverman as saying that her new man, Alec Sulkin was the first guy in a decade to tell her she was pretty, which immediately drew speculation that her former beau, the equally funny Jimmy Kimmel, was unaffectionate!!

Today, the comedienne is shooting down those claims.

US: You recently made some comments about exes that seemed to take aim about Jimmy. What’s your relationship with him like now?
"I'm actually glad you asked because this week has been ridiculous — Jimmy and I are friends! I said that this new guy was super skinny and people reported that I called Jimmy fat - Jimmy's perfect! I said that this new guy says sweet things and all of a sudden the news is that Jimmy never told me I was pretty! Give me a break! The gossip blogs are putting a strain on a real nice post-relationship relationship I have going with one Mr. Jimmy Kimmel, who loved me even when my thighs were at their biggest."

Well that is a relief!! We're happy that the two have come above their break-up and remained friends, and that Jimmy was good to her while they were together!!

Congratulations are in order for both of you!!

…and here comes the backlash!!

After carelessly insulting and generalizing African Americans for what we hope was just his incessant need to have people pay attention to him, John Mayer has really effed himself.

Now people who actually know what they're talking about are weighing in the douchebag, and it's not pretty.

Kathryn Russell-Brown, director of the Center for the Study of Race and Race Relations at the University of Florida, says that Mayer seems to be saying "black women are not just not his type, they're not in his class. They're beneath him."

Laurie L. Mulvey, co-director of the Race Relations Project at Penn State University says:

"Both white people and people of color will be offended by Mayer commenting so flippantly about an issue that has caused so much pain in this culture, especially to black women. Choosing to invoke David Duke to explain these ethnocentric escapades flies in the face of Mayer's self-congratulatory claim that he has a 'Benetton heart.'"

We think Richard T. Ford, author of The Race Card: How Bluffing About Bias Makes Race Relations Worse, says it best when he sums up Mayer as "being deliberately provocative and since he assures us that black people love him — thanks for letting us know — it's supposed to be okay."

He continues:

"Sarah Silverman does post racist very adroitly — she's both hilarious and thought provoking. Mayer does it badly — he's offensive and tiresome. Tragically, this is what passes for edginess for many celebrities today — someone blurting out the most crude and insulting thing that comes to what we might charitably call his 'mind.' Mayer did say one smart in the interview: 'I think the world would be better off if I stopped doing interviews.' Amen."

AGREED!! He has no business making comments like that!! He's not funny and he has no idea what he's talking about - he's just brash and desperately trying to be edgy.

It's a disgusting shame. And worse - he's probably getting OFF on all this press!

How lovely!!

Comedienne and generally awesome Sarah Silverman has finally moved on from her ex, Jimmy Kimmel, and is thrilled to be with new boyfriend, writer Alec Sulkin.

"The guy I'm dating now, who is so awesome, is not my typical fare. He's really skinny. Usually I like pudgy, macho-ish guys. But I think I mistook macho-ish for strong, emotionally. And I think it's really the opposite. I'm with this guy who's so unafraid to . . . I think he's the first guy in a decade who's given me any kind of compliment, like saying I'm pretty or anything."

Wow. Kimmel never told you that you were pretty?!

We're glad that you're happy and receiving proper affection - you deserve it!!

Genius!!

Sarah Silverman usually brings the LOLz, but we don't mind her when she's serious either - she is articulate, well-spoken, and very passionate about equal rights!!

When the subject of gay marriage was brought up, Silverman says:

"Not only would I not get married, it actually actively bums me out that anyone who is for equal rights would get married right now. There's nothing different between that and joining a country club that doesn't allow blacks or Jews back then. Who needs to get married that bad that they'll be a part of a club like that? This is embarrassing. It's embarrassing."

Way to go, Sarah!! Thanks for your support!!
