Sean Penn is in TROUBLE!
After his controversial little rendezvous with notorious Mexican drug kingpin Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman came to light over the weekend, the actor is a man in high demand with government officials who are investigating the interview.

Now, it's not just Mexican government officials, either: the White House has gotten involved in discussing Penn's controversial actions!
White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough spoke to CNN on Monday, telling host Jake Tapper how maddening Penn's interview was to follow:

As we continue to digest the bombshell from the weekend, when Rolling Stone published Sean Penn's interview with notorious drug kingpin Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, people around television are already trying to write it into their shows!

ICYMI: Back in September, Empire creator Lee Daniels was defending Terrence Howard's domestic violence allegations by comparing him to Sean Penn.
Back in the 80s, there were reports that the Milk actor had beaten his then-wife, Madonna, with a baseball bat and that he'd been arrested for assaulting her.
So basically, the FOX showrunner claimed Terrence's situation is no different than what the 55-year-old had gone through.
The Mystic River alum did NOT like that, and slapped the 55-year-old with a $10 million defamation suit.
