Steve Youngwood, the Chief Operating Officer of Sesame Workshop said of the new channel:

"When Sesame Street began, [creator] Joan Ganz Cooney said, ‘It's not whether kids are learning from television, but what they are learning.' The same is true today with preschoolers and YouTube Kids. We are a creative workshop with a 45 year history of breaking new ground. Sesame Studios represents another new frontier for us; one where we can bring our educational expertise to an emerging platform for our audiences."

If that wasn't enough to get you excited, Todrick Hall teamed up with the kids show and created a theme song and video for Sesame Studios!

A legend has died!

David Smyrl, the actor best-known for playing Mr. Handford on Sesame Street, died on Tuesday at Lukenau Medical Center in Philadelphia. He was 80 years old.

Smyrl joined Sesame Street in 1990, playing the former fireman-turned-store owner, and was with the show through 1998.

He played the character a little less grumpy than did the previous actor, Leonard Jackson, and Smyrl was well-liked throughout his tenure on the show.

According to reports, the actor died of lung cancer, a disease he had developed back in January.

The actor also appeared routinely on the sitcom Benson in the 1970s, winning a People's Choice Award for his work there, and he played contractor Sam Lucas on The Cosby Show, on which he also was a writer.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

The Muppets stopped by Greg James' show on BBC Radio 1 on Monday to promote their new series on HBO, but couldn't pass up the opportunity to treat the host to their rendition of the Made in the A.M. single.

Elmo can really deliver that witty banter!

On Saturday, Sesame Street packed up and moved to HBO from PBS for its 46th season!

It's no surprise that the premium cable network is an inneresting home for the preschool classic, being that most shows on HBO cater to a more adult audience!

So, Jimmy Kimmel decided to help the newbie get accustomed to a more mature network by combining footage of Sesame Street with audio from the HBO dramedy Girls!

In the Jimmy Kimmel Live clip, Elmo and Abby have a hilarious discussion about sexuality courtesy of dialogue used in a scene with Lena Dunham and Andrew Rannells!
