This is fantastic!

Back in July 2012, engaged couple Charlie Craig and David Mullins went to local bakery Masterpiece Cakeshop and asked for a wedding cake with the Sesame Street characters Bert and Ernie on it with the words "Support Gay Marriage" in icing.

Baker Jack Phillips refused to make it for them, citing religious reasons. However, he did provide them other baked good options.

Charlie and David took him to court for damages for discrimination and Phillips lost.

Phillips then took the case to an appeals court in Colorado where — despite Patrick Stewart's surprising support of the Bakery — it was just ruled by a judge that the baker CANNOT cite religion as his reason to refuse to bake a wedding cake for gay couples.

The couple was represented by the deputy legal director of the American Civil Liberties Union, Louise Melling, who said:

Sonia announced her retirement during an address at the American Library Association Annual Conference on Tuesday to both shock and grief from fans.

During her time on the Street, the Latina role model won 15 Emmys for her writing and was nominated twice for Outstanding Performer in a Children's Series for her time onscreen.

The next generation to watch Sesame Street will be a little worse off for not having her around. See some of her best moments through the years (below)!

Patrick Stewart Bakery

Honestly, we're a little surprised…

If you haven't heard, Ashers Bakery in Belfast, Ireland recently lost a court case when a judge ruled that the baker Daniel McArthur had "unlawfully discriminated" against a gay rights activist.

Gareth Lee asked for a cake that had the Sesame Street characters Bert and Ernie on it with the words "Support Gay Marriage" in icing. McArthur refused to make it, giving the following reason:

"We don't want to be forced to promote a cause which is against our biblical beliefs."

Ashers Bakery have been ordered by the court to pay 500 pounds ($765) in damages for discrimination. However, they have said that they're going to appeal.

Now it seems they have some support from an unlikely source: Sir Patrick Stewart! The X-Men star has come out backing the bakery for their decision!

Stewart explained on Newsnight:

Caroll Spinney talks about one boy who stood out from the rest

The man under the feathers has done a lot lately.

From releasing a documentary about his iconic role as Big Bird, to making this AH-mazing Birdman parody, to teaming up with Michelle Obama and Billy Eichner, Caroll Spinney works his tail off just to make kids smile on the daily.

But when he hosted an 'ask me anything' on Reddit Thursday, he revealed there was one child in particular whose smile stands out.

The Sesame Street star was asked about his 'most meaningful interaction' with a young viewer, and the story he told made us tear up.

He had gotten a letter from a man who had a five-year-old son named Joey, who was very sick with cancer and knew he was dying. All Joey wanted was a phone call from his feathered friend. Big Bird was the only thing that could cheer him up, but he wasn't always in every episode of the children's show.

So Caroll dialed the phone and, as Big Bird, talked to the boy for about ten minutes. He told the Reddit readers Joey's final words to him:

The Met Gala always gives us such standout outfits… but Rihanna's 2015 red carpet look is totally next level.

Her yellow Guo Pei gown was so huge that she literally took up the entire staircase herself and they had vacate the carpet so she wouldn't knock anyone over with her train!

It's safe to say the RiRi left the museum with the most talked-about dress, but we just couldn't quite place where we'd seen her silhouette before.

And then we realized that Rihanna was totally channeling some Yellow Brick Road couture!!!

But what else did Rihanna's Met Gala gown resemble??
