No surprises here! Her rendition of Francis Cabrel's Je L'aime A Mourir was beautiful!!!

On Saturday, before her performance at the NRJ Music Awards in Cannes (above), Shakira was honored with the French culture medal by France's minister of culture Frederic Mitterand.

Here's what she had to say about it:

Shakira gave a beautiful performance at the NRJ Awards in Cannes, France on Saturday, singing in French.

The singer performed Je L'aime A Mourir while wearing a beautiful gown as cherry blossom petals floated around her.

Sources very close to Shakira's label are whispering about a duet with Britney Spears that is in the works RIGHT NOW.

There have been talks of it ever since Pharrell suggested it, saying:

We never thought of these two working together, but we like it!

Miley Cyrus and Shakira are currently recording a duet together to help raise funds for children with severe heart disease.

The two ladies will be a part of a charity gala, where the new song will be presented on February 14.

Shaki says:

"This song is for charity and non-commercial."

Love that!! We are SOOO on board with this! We can only imagine what kind of hot track these two can produce. And the fact that they're doing it for children just makes it all a little sweeter. Good work, ladies!

It's been a busy year for Shakira!

She worked super hard on her tour, got a star on Hollywood Blvd, looked hot every day, etc…

So this Miami vacation was definitely deserved! And she got to spend it with boyfriend Gerard Pique and her family.

We bet she had a great New Year's Eve there!! Glad she got to bond with the fam too!

Shakira is currently topping the charts in France with her Spanish/French song Je L'aime à Mourir / La Quiero A Morir.

This is soooo pretty! And different from the things she's been doing recently!
